Looking for a first time helmet, the agv k3 sv and Nolan n86 appeal to me butassuming they fit well is one or other more suited as a helmet to do das with?

They are more aggressive 3/4 tuck.. Search for a local shop and see what You like.

Nobody looks stupid wearing a crash helmet, only people who don't.

Get a helmet that fits well, is comfortable & that YOU like.

Don't fuss what other people think, unless you're wearing a day glow pink helmet, then I'd feel a bit self concious ;)

I had the Nolan 84 which had a smaller external sunvisor. Cracking helmet if a little on the heavy side. I can't wear agv as they dig into my forehead at the top of the visor gap. IMO then need more padding there

You'll never know which one untill you try them on.

I did loads of online research, looked at specs, designs etc. I then chose a few I liked the look of, went and tried them on and found they were just wrong for my head!

After trying more on, I bought the AGV K3SV. It's a very good helmet. I'd buy another without question.

The only issues I've found, and I'm being picky, is as the chin section is lower than my previous helmet it can hit my shoulder during a 'life saver', and I've found the top of the 'pin-lock' insert can be right in my line of sight some times. But I think both of these happen with a more aggressive riding position. Not in everyday riding.

I went to 3 different bike shops to try on as many as I could. You should definitely go and try some on.

Try every helmet you can get to wear. I went with a caberg duke in the end, as have others on here. Fits well, quiet, even though it's a flip helmet and light for being a flip front. Can't fault it. 5 star sharp rated too.

Thanks dude. I absolutely love it.

Although, to be fair to previous owners, all I've done to it is add the rear hugger.

Bought, not built. That the way I roll. More time to ride then :p
