Hey guys. I just picked up an 02 curvy in blue. Akrapovic can on the end and other than that it's stock. Can't wait to get riding! I'm American stationed here in your lovely little country, so I've got to wait until my supervision processes my paperwork before I can ride.

I'm not exactly sure what I should be looking for. I was thinking about a stage 3 jet kit and an intake. Is it worth the power?

I'm no expert on the SV but I don't think you will get a huge kick in the pants with it. That said I would have thought it would improve throttle response and give a few BHP but couldn't say how much. Someone here will know there are some wise bods nocking about these here woods :-)
Mine is an 03 in black same as yours with same exhaust but full system in titanium sounds great. Is your suspension stock if so you might want to think about starting with sorting better dampening from the forks and rear shock then poss the breaks with braded lines just a thought but that's were I would start. I thought the SV would be slow and struggle with the big boys but I have not found this to be the case sure some of my mates out drag me on the straights but that not were the fun is and personally I love the light flickable little SV it great in the bends and happy on main A roads and motorways.
My jets are stock as is airbox and filter I have no plans just yet to change them just yet but planning to have the old girl set up better than she is when I can find a decent rolling road setup local ish.
What have you been riding over the pond or is this your first bike?

My arsenal of bikes went
84 Honda Magna v4 500
82 Suzuki GS1100E- stage three jets and exhaust, k&n pod filters
83 Honda Magna v4 1100
96 Honda CBR600 F3
2011 Harley Davidson Ultra Classic 96CI 6 speed
I love the feel of the sv. It's much like the cbr. Super light and nimble.

Yeah I had a cbr6 a while back I liked it but.. Lacked something.. Ditched it for a zzr6 which for me was a better bike. Also got an 850 guzzi mk1 but she needs a little love as almost totally original and old now.. I started with a Honda 250 super dream and then got a Suzuki gs 550 I think then a yam RD 350 (wish I'd kept it) then GPZ900 (wish I'd kept it) GPZ750 water cooled one Yam FZR6 pre foxeye model yam rd350 power valve (not as fun as lc) 600 bandit which I just didn't get on with so on to a CBR6 then ZZR6 and now the SV and the mk1 Le mans I have a Guzzi California in bits which was all restored but never got round to rebuilding perhaps one day;-)
The bandit was the only new bike I ever bought and perhaps that was part of the problem bike was fine but only ever needed wash and polish and I didn't service it due to warranty and I kinda missed the oil under me finger nails..

Welcome to the org!
Good to see you bought the best looking SV.
On the mod subject, you're unlikely to make any noticeable difference to power, it's pretty much as powerful as it can be.
But if you do want to mod it, then:
K&n Filter and dyno to supplement exhaust
Gsxr front end / stiffer springs and uprated fork oil
Zx10 rear shock
Possibly 120/70 front tyre
Fender extender is a must
Rear hugger
Scott oiler if you fancy it
Night breaker headlights because the standard ones are pants.
Heated grips if you're ghey.
I'll edit this if I can think of anything else.

Read what the Stage III jet kit is for on the Dynojet site. It's for engines that have been highly modified, like bored oversize and porting and higher lift longer duration cams. Those sort of mods will enable the engine to flow more air, which will enable the use of more fuel. Putting a Stage III jet kit in a stock engine will just make it run very rich and probably make less power.

Ah i thought you might be.
Welcome to the EAR, check us out in the regional section, it'll be pretty quiet organised ride wise until March, but the first one usually starts from Red Lodge cafe near Mildenhall.
