I've been thinking of selling the SV for a while, as I don't use it half much as I used to. However, I've changed my mind and am now going the other way and am going to tweak it so it's exactly the way I want it.

That'll mean braided lines, an end can, new fork springs and a new shock, as well as cosmetic stuff like the kit to remove the grab rails.

First thing is to tidy up the front end, so while it's off for new springs I want to get the fork lowers and wheels painted.

Anyone got recommendations of places that will do a good job of that ? Preferably within reasonable travelling distance of Ayr. There's plenty to choose from, but I'd like to go with one that some org'ers have positive experience of ...

ESP in Springburn. SV subframe for £35. Kevin ****in Carmicheal walks past and I get star struck and turn into a social 'tardo. Killy boy right enough so....

P&J in Thormiebank. Blacked up ma rack. £15.

Can recommend both. As both going for years doing bike stuff.

You are doing the right thing. I miss my SV. Glorious engine. 'Member and post a pic of the p-coated bling bling.

They sound promising too - thanks.

Got a list of things to do now. Should have done it earlier, might have got a few Christmas presents out of it ....

That's a point. The alloys on the car could do with a tidy up. I might get them done first to see what sort of job they do, then take it from there .....

I used ESP powdercoating in Glasgow, but it was years ago when I had to replace the SV's front wheel. The work they did was great.
