No Nightriders, they're designed to be used for bikes and are more vibration proof, so will last longer

The lenses can yellow with age as they are plastic, but it is also worth checking the voltages at the bulb connectors compared to the battery, as you may have a few grotty connections that are taking the edge off the voltage, and this can make a noticeable difference.
It's worthwhile to fit a relay and upgrade the wiring to the headlights, it made a 2 volt difference on mine ...this coupled with Nightriders has made my headlights so much better.

I'll check the voltage and see what its reading then if thats all good i'll look into some new bulbs too

Fit the Nightriders first then check the voltage as standard bulbs are lower wattage and there'll be a smaller volt drop across the loom. Since upgrading the wiring I get over 13 volts at the bulb connections with Nightriders fitted ...hope this helps.

Check connector blocks inside the headlight unit for corrosion on the inner pins (and the wires that supply them). I had the same problems until I couldn't tell if mine was on or off....if your speedo light is also dim you have current flow problems (high resistance).
Mine is very bright on standard bulbs. In fact I ripped the crappy HID kit off that the last owner fitted as it's an offence to put anything Chinese on a Jap bike IMHO. I think if you need HID's to see better then people need an eye test or a bus pass.

Are HID even legal on bikes?
I fitted Osram nightbreakers as had them as spares for a car I don't have any more and they have been perfect with good spread of light and much better than the stock bulbs which were fitted.
