Continuing my New Forest walks today I was in the north of the forest to wander among the ancient oaks. Some are hundreds of years old. Then we climbed a tumulus and took the panoramic while watching some red deer grazing below us, you probably can't see them in this pic though. As with the ones yesterday, just taken on my phone.

It was Landguard Fort in Felixstowe. Didn't realise they were doing it but had my Gopro so I set it down on the edge.

It's £4 to get in but we'll worth it.

Sorry Aunt Millie's does not deliver. Especially to the UK. ;)
It's a biker pub owned by a girl I went to school with.
Best pizza ever!
The building next door has long been abandoned and there is nothing left but the walls.
There are trees are growing up out of the center of the former building, several have grown through what was the front windows.

Hey, Bill: you could do the deliveries, though a Domino's ( other brands etc ) delivery box would rather spoil the lines of your bike! ;)

It's not as tranquil as it looks. The Forestry Commission were felling a huge oak tree so the chain saws were buzzing and the noise it made when it came down was loud enough to be heard a mile away.

The quality of pictures is stunning, some really nice shots being shown.
We went to Marbury Country Park this morning hoping to get some Autumnal colours, looks like we'll have to wait a bit longer yet, most trees are still green. Caught this little fellow having a nibble though.

Just back from a packed Bicester. Glad I got there early on the bike as there were cars abandoned all over the place outside the airfield causing chaos. Surprised we did not get a few traffic cars pay a visit but I bet those lads and lasses were busy looking up, the same as us.
Glad I was early too as 558 was a good ten minutes ahead of schedule when she came over. We all giggled at the ponce in the 1 Series convertible who screeched to a stop blocking the airfield access road, jumping out with a puny pocket camera, five minutes after she'd gone...
Lovely slow pass but even so she was past us and on her way north west in a moment. Fabulous sight though and well worth the jams on the way out of town! Farewell lovely bird - enjoy your retirement.

I will happily admit to altering the balances post production to make thst shot look that way. It was all I could do to get my rather slow 70-300 focused in the right place in the 15 seconds or so we had before the subject was gone again. A pretty grey day did not help - the little bit of blue there was all the clear sky visible at the time. Inreased brightness, contrast and colour saturation did the trick.

Nothing wrong in tweaking a photo it saves erasing what could be a nice picture (which yours is). I bet that we are all guilty of doing it, but that's the beauty of digital photography.
You said it better than I did.

Love the old bikes, not so keen on the spider (!) but love the pebble foot.

Mine for today. It was a plane last week, a train today, so it'll have to be an automobile next week...
The Cathedrals Express came through High Wycombe today. It visits Warwick and Stratford-upon-Avon once a year or so and just like last year the bridges were full of people out to see a steam loco on the main line. We don't get many so it's worth turning out for. This year it was pulled by Mayflower, built for the LNER it is one of two surviving class B1 locomotives (according to the Cathedrals Express website). You can see it in it's wonderful green livery on my Flikr page but I rather liked this one in monochrome.

Nice shot. Was it colour then converted or shot b&w?

I was wondering the same. Nice greenish tone(or is that my eyes). Great shot.

I shoot in RAW and use nothing more complex than the Digital Photo Pro software that came with my 700D. On the RAW tab in the tool palette you can change the Picture Style to B&W, at which point the Colour Tone and Saturation sliders become Filter Effect and Toning Effect. You can go for sepia and other colours but as the loco is LNER green I set both sliders to green to see how it looked. Liked it so kept it. Dare say PS would do it better but for bundled software it's not too bad.

No. 1 daughter is 16 tomorrow. She asked for "one of those cakes where the sweets look like they're pouring out of the packets"...
So I made one!

Hmm... That should have worked...
It's probably because it's a link to a page and not the image itself.
Copy what I have done above, but with a link to just the image in place of the original link.

Thanks :) I went out to get photos of the stars so had no intentions of cleaning it or anything! Didn't bother with stars after I started on this one
Thanks Rich
Fantastic shot Lew. Would not look out of place in a bike mag.
Matt. Some nice shots from you too. It's all about the light.

Did touristy stuff with my nephew today. Both of us forgot our cameras so we used the mobile.
Downing Street, 02 to Eye on the Clipper, St James's park, Buck House, I was glad when we say down for lunch in Nando's! We even had a photo bombing goose.
