The Gulf Stream helps us and we've had mostly south westerly winds. Only when the wind comes from the East do we get a dump of snow this far south on the east coast.
Plus global warming which is also having a influence.

Nearly 40 degrees here today. We took a ferry. It's not quite a P&O!

I wonder why the States are getting all the bad snow.
Apparently Queen Elsa has touched off an eternal winter.
We're waiting on her sister, an ice cutter, his reindeer and a snowman named Olaf to bring back summer.
I think we've been keeping the grandkids too much! :smt120

This is the queue to get in, inside it was a scrum
But its a beautiful building, just not today

It's really encouraging that people queue to get in. Restores my faith in the leaders of future years.

Hopefully some of this should filter down to the youth, but it was really difficult to appreciate the place with so many visitors. My youngest one loves going to the museum, but I don't think she enjoyed today.
South Kensington tube station was a nightmare, but its always like this at half term.
Next time we'll go late on in the afternoon when the rush has died down & stay in a hotel.

Wow that's quite remarkable. One to keep. The Victorians did create some very good stuff.
When I was about 7-8 I had a fossil identified there. Gave me a little card saying what it was etc. really inspiring for a kid.

I've been planning taking my kids there. I remember going as a very young lad, many years ago! We'd have to do an overnight stay though. Looks like a miserable queue, just what the Brits love eh!
Today's efforts, dodging the hail showers.

Lot's of people do trout fish here however trout fishing is best higher up in the mountains. (about an hour away)
This river is better known for Striped Bass fishing but they are only here a short while when they come up the river to spawn.
Regulations are:
From May 1 through May 15, anglers are allowed to keep one striped bass per person measuring a minimum of 32 inches.
From May 16 through June 15, possession limit is two fish between 18 and 28 inches, or one fish between 18 and 28 inches and one fish over 32 inches.
You'll need heavy duty (salt water) kit to land one of these monsters.
Does that mean I can take all the 17 inch fish I like? Or that I'm not allowed to take any 17 inch fish at all?

None under 18", that being the minimum.
Why are the fish 28-32" protected?

No idea really.
Probably because this law was created by Americans.

Not surprising if you kill off everything else, that the genes for that specific size would be the most common!

Actually that was sticky toffee pudding for a colleague. I was dashing about so didn't have the mackerel and cockle starter, lamb cutlets with lamb faggot and fondant potato or the pudding. I did grab 4 small pieces of Welsh cheese and a few crackers. I also skipped the Welsh whiskey guests were offered with the cheese course.

QE2 also had steam turbines.
But maybe it was the last of its type
Cold and very windy

Loads of bikes out though.
Too wet and miserable to venture far today.
Slightly late uploading, but a photo from the AR route I was test riding yesterday;

Kenzie,is that Southwold!!!
Certainly is. The cafes on the pier were packed out. Windy and cold, so my wife didn't want to hang around. Managed to use up a couple of shots on the 35mm and a couple off the D3200.
Had a pint or three of Broadside down there in me caravan, loverly part of the world!!!

Went running along the Montomeryshire canal this afternoon and took these. Only mobile phone pictures I'm afraid, so not the best quality.

This morning I purchased.....
Canon 5Diii, 24-70 f2.8 L series Mark ii, 100 - 400 f4.5 L series Mark ii, 50mm f1.4, 600 EX-RT flash, Lowepro Pro Runner X450 AW Rolling Case, Manfrotto MT055CXPRO3 & MHXPRO‑3W X‑PRO 3‑Way Head and a couple of nice Hoya clear filters.
This is for work use, but it means I can finally take my own camera gear home and do more personal photography at the weekends.
