I joined a photography club today...
and went to a presentation also...
and it was good :)
so I'm hoping to hone my photography skills.

Sheffield. The town hall I guess.
Building is the Town Hall, with the peace gardens in front of it. Don't get it mixed up with the city hall, which is just around the corner and is more of a concert venue - but both have fountains now.

As you can tell, I wasn't 100% certain not being a native. It's very impressive though

Richie, are you a vampire, you only seem to go out at night. ;)
I'm not the only one thinking this then. The results are well worth viewing so you stay nocturnal if it suits you Richie.
I assumed Richie was a shift worker. But then that description also applies to a vampire
The pale skin is just a northern thing. And it's only light for 4 hours a day in winter. You've gotta be on the ball to take a daylight shot...

Stunning as always Richie - your images are always so clear.
My workload is dropping as my project winds down and I'm getting home earlier now, meaning I am getting my camera out more and converting some of the pics I've had in my queue. Saturation is up a bit but this was a sunrise over Trev Towers a few weeks ago.

My dog barfed as well and it looked quite similar but I'm not sure what he'd been eating.
Your dog appears to have eaten an unripened plum, a rotten strawberry, and possibly what looks to be zombie fingers!!!!!,
which may well be what led to all this. :puker:
Zombie fingers anyone????

@Admin, LOL!
Great shot of the lighthouse Richie. (I'm not sure you were frisked properly when you left the service, that looks like a depth charge!)
Love the Eclipse shot Lew, think BP's might be my favourite though.
I didn't get to take part, I'd only just landed and was dashing into work for my colleague's last day, took him for lunch and then headed home for sleep after a 28 hour day!
I've been fortunate enough to be in Atlanta for 5 nights for work. Microsoft Convergence convention, it was awesome, so useful and interesting but also the travel and food was amazeballs! had such a good time. I'd asked for advice and researched ahead of time so I was familiar already when we landed.
Some of our exploits are here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/97383585@N06/sets/72157651461248482/detail (lots of text and sub-par images, I was using my iPhone most of the time)
I took and tried using my DSLR but struggled to have the time or spot the shots.
I'll process what ones I did take before long and upload them too.

Very envious of the Kingfisher Pete.
I spotted something rare today as well - the well known Sammy Miller. If you've not had chance to go see his museum in the New Forest it is a must, lots of wonderful bikes and memorabilia. Today he was at the finish line of the annual Sunbeam MCC Pioneer Run and although the sun did not pop out until later in the day it was nice to see the old bikes duff duff duffing into Madeira Drive. I am still cold several hours after getting home and I'll upload a few more shots to my Flikr feed later in the week but here are a couple to set the scene.

Got out on the bike today.
No fab scenery as the mountains are too far and some of the roads there not been reopened yet.
Not to mention spring is a bit late and everything still looks like winter so headed the opposite direction through the rolling woodlands and farm country.
Despite still looking like winter it was warm today and the roads were clear.
Good to be out on the bike again.

strangely enough a horse can put out about 12 horsepower. Therefore it doesn't need a slipper clutch. Also the hydraulics work on a total loss system. :joker:

Pete - VERY VERY envious of those shots.
Richie - you should work for the Durham Tourist Board as you make me want to come and explore the place with shots like those.
