Wiring up Vapour Trail to 99 SV650

Hi Guys,

I'm in the process of streetfightering my 99 SV650. I have bought a Vapour Trial to install which was going not too bad until i replaced the dead battery that was in the unit.

I first hooked up the power to the ignition which worked great and all the screen came on but since replacing the battery i now haver the right arrow lighting up red when i connect to unit to the bike 12v system. Any idea's why this is? it only started happening after i replaced the battery.

I have attached 2 pics, 1 is with the red light and no display, this is only connected to the bikes 12v system. The other is with the red light on and the display showing, this is with the battery in and connected to the bikes 12v system.

Is there a way to not have the battery in and just run the unit on the ignition? Ideally i wan the clocks to come on when i turn the key and off when i switch them off but not lose any settings? is this possible?
