If you are responsible, this is real. Two of the business site of my own employers were hit over the new year and costs incurred on premium rate calls to Somalia and Cuba.
Scary is it appears that there were only about 30 calls before the hackers were able to break in. Our exchange was programmed to have a pass number of between 3 and 8 digits. so they must have a software tool to ring the number, try to enter as many pass numbers before disconnect and retry until they get it right. Our only defense so far has to be turning off voice mail.
The positive is, BT had notice suspicious international dialing after some time and disabled our lines and we then worked out what had happened when we contacted BT when we couldn't dial international and got Yes, our fraud dept is trying to contact someone about your unusual calling.
