tech help re electrics please

got a mates sv650 2000 in as it wouldnt start put the meter on it and found stator had died it took rec, coils and cdi (possibly) with it on its way so ordered 2nd hand units which all tested fine ...the question is the manual says it has TPS on the carbs is that right and also is there any way of testing the cam sensor or crank sensor as we think that the cdi is not getting signals as it still wont start ??? thanks for help in advance

There is no cam sensor.

You could test crank sensor with oscilloscope but this is part of the stator, did you replace this?

Don't worry about TPS on carbs it won't stop it running even disconnected.


More likely to be rec that dies and takes stator out than other way around. Leave charging system out of it for the moment until you got it running, just unplug reg rec.

You got a wiring diagram? Eliminated all the safety cutouts?

It burned out the coils? Not seen that before. Worth checking you have sparks on both cylinders.
