View Full Version : HDR Effect Pic
Hi guys
A mate of mine has had a play with one of my track day pics from last year and created this effect out of a single exposure. I think it's great. What do you think ?

I hate HDR pics. Well, that's a little strong but I've seen many pics that look a lot better as a vanilla shot. Why don't you put the vanilla shot up as well and Ch00 can see how much better the vanilla shot looks... :-)
I appreciate the processing that happens to generate the look from the vanilla - it's very well done.
When I become Prime Minister, I intend to outlaw HDR.
Looks like bottom of the mountain at Cadwell if I'm not mistaken!!!
Close, but no cigar. It's the left hander in Hall Bends after The Mountain.

Ratty, about the original. Knowing and understanding very little about photography (other than HDR being the devil's work), the rider's left side looks a very long way away from the grass. Is that due to a high F setting (?) being used?

I too know nothing about photography. The original pic is just a shrunk ( to fit on here ) version of what I bought off the Tog online. No idea on settings.
Kenzie : Nice effort but lacks contrast. Effect would look better with a brightly coloured bike.

my little attempt, hope you like them.

That's a cool effect Richie. Is there a name for it ? I'm not sure there is a difference between 1 and 2 or my dodgy eyes can't see it. Thanks for the efforts. I would love to be able to manipulate images, but I don't see to have the time to fix up the SV, never mind anything else. We have a new full size replica English Electric Lightning as a Gate Guard at work, illuminated with blue spots. I bet a night shot of that could be made to look very effective.

you are correct, uploaded the other version... lol
