Its that time of year again to start thinking about MMR!

It'll give you time to plan

The later weekends might be better, as the days will be longer & hopefully warmer!

So get chatting & voting

39 views and no votes, looks like I'm riding on my own this year

Kenzie

Might clash with the spring sales ;)

NTECUK
12-02-15, 07:36 AM
Yes met up at redlodge last year.
But if you can find a entering route then Tesco is good.

As is always with me March is a bad, bad month for free time...

Wedding anniversary weekend, wife's 30th birthday weekend, boys 5th birthday weekend and a trip to the Goodwood Members Meeting mean no free weekends at all!

NTECUK
18-02-15, 12:13 PM
Take that's a maybe then Skip lol

Skip
18-02-15, 12:15 PM
I flexed my Moderatorial powers and edited the poll hehe :)

maviczap
18-02-15, 01:18 PM
Perhaps we ought to move it to April Skip, as there's only me & NTECUK riding at the mo

We'll call it the April Showers ride out, with a meat stop :smt118

I know what its like to have few weekends free, as I work every other one, which is a complete PITA

NTECUK
18-02-15, 01:27 PM
Well April should be warmer

Skip
18-02-15, 01:31 PM
Last year I did loads of riding in April - so fingers crossed! :)

Better get on with sorting the bike out as it will soon come round!

Missed the thread....I can do any Sunday assuming I can get home and set off to work in time, currently travelling on a Sunday late afternoon on the train. Just might mean that I have to leave for home early on the ride....I can't remember the timings from previous years.....

That's all assuming the weather is a bit hit and miss as if it's lovely by then I'll be on the bike to work and can leave early Monday morning instead, I just want to be sure I wont be stranded in Birmingham with horrific weather is all :)

Does that make 3, potentially 4 if we do it in April?

maviczap
19-02-15, 07:05 AM
Yep, and i give Paul a shake, as he's obviously not seen this. Might need Skip to add some dates in April.

But my new hours contract starts April, so i can only do every other and it'll dependent on what my wife is working.

I'm sure we can work a date out

Haven't seen Sally for a long time - although to be honest I don't visit the forum that much these days...

I will add every Sunday in April to the poll.

maviczap
20-02-15, 08:53 AM
Thanks Skip, although all of a sudden there's 6 votes for the 22nd

NTECUK
20-02-15, 08:59 AM
But can you see who voted.
The Essex Longe is quiet dead. So Sally has a easy life as a mod. And Super Vox has gone dark since the off last year. Essex posts are mainly south of Chelmsford
I'm going to post risky link to see if any one notices.
We have a few 675 owners up in Ear.
Is it OK to invite them. Cos when it comes down to it were lucky to get more than 2 sv's on a run.

maviczap
20-02-15, 09:12 AM
No, I can't, maybe Skip can?

Don't mind who turns up.

As I've voted, I can't add the April dates to my votes.

Skip
20-02-15, 10:23 AM
It appears I cannot do much with the poll for existing voters... Perhaps we need a new thread with a poll and I will merge them... Just out of a meeting but give me a couple of hours and I will sort it out...

maviczap
20-02-15, 10:25 AM
Yep, new thread would be great Skip

Skip
20-02-15, 11:14 AM
New thread for a recount of when we will run the March/April 2015 Meat Run...

This poll will also show who voted...

kaivalagi
20-02-15, 07:38 PM
Voted again, would sooner wait until mid March at the earliest and can't do the 26th April, easter weekend is fine for biking...

Ch00
20-02-15, 09:16 PM
I might pop along (if allowed) what would be a likely start time?

maviczap
20-02-15, 09:17 PM
10 at Rdlodge cafe for a 10:30 depart if I remember from the last ride out

All welcome

NTECUK
05-03-15, 09:42 AM
OK Hopefully we have a plan forming
I have to sort out something for the ride as my zx6r off the road and the daytona is too uncomfortable.

Is it a date then guys?

NTECUK

kaivalagi
12-03-15, 04:39 PM
BTW, anyone fancying a ride on any of the other dates just post up a thread for it, I'll more than likely be able to make time...any excuse for a meet up and bimble!

NTECUK
12-03-15, 07:14 PM
If you cross paths at Bury St Edmunds. I'll buy you a ice cream from the van lol.

kaivalagi
12-03-15, 07:20 PM
Sounds like a plan....maybe not this weekend though, the weather sucks big time, or did the last I looked....plus I have some gardening in my polytunnel to get sorted :)

NTECUK
12-03-15, 08:10 PM
Yes post April.
I did 110 miles last Saturday
Man it killed the knee.
Looking forward to a ssofter ride on the XRX.
I did have a hoot with my cheap Sj4000 cam.

maviczap

Do you know, its spooky, I've heard from one old EAR member & then you pop up, as I was thinking where had you got to.

How are you?

svrich
12-03-15, 10:30 PM
I've been good, thanks fellas. Life and other things have kept me busy - lots of house jobs and sorting out our van.
I've sold the SV and now have a BMW F800s. A lovely bike that is very much like the SV, just newer and a bit bigger.
Having seen this ride I'll do my best to attend. It would be great to meet up again, and get some proper riding miles on the new rubber.

maviczap
13-03-15, 06:41 AM

kaivalagi
13-03-15, 01:30 PM
Nice one, my dad had an f800s, belt drive right? Great mpg and good alrounder. If you fancy a met up just post up as I am trying to get lots more miles in this year!

NTECUK
13-03-15, 03:08 PM
Fancy a long weekend up round last year's AR?

kaivalagi
13-03-15, 04:22 PM
In theory yes, would need to see when and if I can get time off work and the kids looked after too...the misses would want to come on the back of the Rocket I'm pretty sure.....I can't make this years AR so I can justify an earlier alternative :)

Although I am being tempted by the 0% apr on KTM Adv 1190's at the mo so it could be on one of those....would make a good replacement for the SM-T if I can fit on it....maybe next year for one :)

NTECUK
13-03-15, 05:56 PM
Yes the KTM is very nice.
Unfortunately not built for shot blokes..

Kenzie
15-03-15, 08:29 AM
Presuming that everything is ok with the mot next week, what's the plan then Mav? Meet at Tesco Copdock then A14 to Redlodge?

maviczap
15-03-15, 08:57 AM
Yep, I think so

kaivalagi
15-03-15, 10:38 AM
Need to update the first post with the chosen date I think just to make it clear, 12th April right?

maviczap
15-03-15, 10:41 AM
Yes, 12th April is the date on my calender

Kenzie

Stay indoors?

Glad we didn't vote for today, it would have been like the one we did a few years ago, bloomin freezing.

Hopefully by April, thing will have settle down for the better.

kaivalagi
15-03-15, 07:16 PM
April's gonna be a corker!

As for now, I have a 5am start tomorrow to head to Birmingham for 8-8:30....the temp is not looking great but atleast I'll be riding I suppose...no more bloody train journey or getting stuck in traffic...

Kenzie
15-03-15, 09:14 PM
Cool, I haven't checked the forecast yet. What time is the meet at Tesco?

Its a bit crystal ball gazing to know what the forecast is going to be like in a months time :)

Probably meet around 09:15 at Tescos on the 12th April

No, it's going to be awesome, say it enough times ans it will be true! Either way it's best to plan on good weather and go from there!

I read the below as dry, warm and sunny in the east :)

" UK Outlook for Monday 30 Mar 2015 to Monday 13 Apr 2015:

A changeable period is expected, with unsettled conditions interspersed with some fine spells. The current indication is that a westerly, or northwesterly, pattern will develop, and this would lead to showers, or longer spells of rain, becoming most frequent across northwestern parts. The best of the drier and brighter conditions are then likely across the south and east. However all areas are likely to see some sunshine at times. There is also likely to be a wide range in temperatures, with some warm days, especially in the south and east, but also cold nights, with a continued risk of local frosts.

Updated at: 1105 on Sun 15 Mar 2015"

OK do we have a plan.
Side note I've clocked up a massive 42 miles on the xrx
...

maviczap
05-04-15, 08:07 PM
No, although meet at Red Lodge for 10, leave at 10:30 if that ok. Meet at Tesco Copdock for 9 and leave there at no later than 9:15

Hopefully I've got the MMR gpx file somewhere, otherwise we're going to get lost, but then it wouldn't be an EAR run if we didn't make a U turn somewhere

NTECUK
07-04-15, 10:59 AM
OK well I think I'll go via Haverhill. It's a good mix of speeds and will help break in the tiger's engine.
Better than the main route.

Kenzie
08-04-15, 08:19 PM
What's the route?

Ch00
08-04-15, 08:29 PM
Is this likely to be a bimble, blast or balls out type affair?

maviczap
08-04-15, 08:31 PM
Bimble with occasional blasts, and maybe the odd U turn, it wouldn't be an EAR ride out without one

maviczap
08-04-15, 08:38 PM
Here's the original route

Not going to make this sorry chaps - bike is still in pieces in the garage! So much for the two week turnaround on the powdercoating - this is week 4! :(

maviczap
10-04-15, 02:05 PM
Shame skip, although I had that happen to me.

We'll have another ride out for sure

Skip
10-04-15, 02:20 PM
At least my 125 is on the road so getting some motorcycling enjoyment during my commute :)

NTECUK
10-04-15, 02:54 PM
But if you wanted you could use that for the run too.
Got you to southwald no problem ;)

Skip
10-04-15, 02:58 PM
lol - after the last EAR rideout comments about a 125 joining in I don't want to be "that guy" :) Poor thing is happy at about 45-(nearly)50 tops - anything over 50 is starting to push it and 55-60 is screaming it to death - perfect for commuting but not really for much else...!

Kenzie
10-04-15, 07:33 PM
Go on!

Sent from my Kindle Fire

kaivalagi
10-04-15, 08:12 PM
Give us the heads up when your proper bike is back together skip! No disrespect but I don't think I can take another rideout with a 125 stuck at 40mph lol....might reconsider if you bring some rope and I can pull you along!

kaivalagi
11-04-15, 06:47 AM
The weather is looking good for Sunday from what I've seen in forecasts this morning.....looking forward to my fry up in the cafe...get there early to fit one in!!

Kenzie
11-04-15, 06:57 AM
Would love a fry up, Mav, what time to meet to squeeze one in?

NTECUK
11-04-15, 06:57 AM
Now don't forget to bring something to carry the raffle winnings home this year people!
