Well hello again y'all. As usual, not a lot happening here so thought I'd kick things off for this year seeing as the riding seasons about to start :-)

This weekend I shall have a free pass and as such shall be doing at least 400 miles around the beautiful Wales (weather permitting).

I have no current plan but will be thinking one up during the week to post on this thread should anyone wish to join me.

Enough about me. What are you lot doing (riding wise) this year?

Edit: North Wales Ride April 26th details - http://dragonbikers.co.uk/index.php/topic,3998.0.html

Sounds good, I would just like to ride my bike a little more this year and have the warm weather needed to do so. If there was one thing that I would do given the the chance, it would be ship my bike off somewhere tropical and ride in a nice climate on dry roads that never see frost.

Enjoy your weekend and keep it shiny side up. D:

Cheers Jane. One of my aims this year is to get down to bike night and meet you lot

I keep my eyes peeled in here for ride outs. I'm not as free as I used to be (kids etc) but I'll be sure to join in when possible. A few WBN's are a minimum for me this year but I plan to get over the bridge if/when the chance comes up.

Keep me posted with ride details, not always going to be able to make them though. This weekend for instance will be a little problem as I haven't ridden my SV for months, just been on the Grom. So that's not the best thing to take over the bridge for a 400 mile ride. Or at least not yet...

You're not gonna turbo it are you Steve?

Haha, I've followed your Grom adventures from afar and it sounds like a really fun bike.

Will keep you all posted. There are quite a few rides coming up (weather permitting of course). E.g. about 15 or so bikes are heading up to the Ponderosa Cafe in Mid/North Wales on Sunday 26th April. Its a bit of an annual fixture so the bikers from the North and the South meet there for a bit of a get together on the day.

We always take the scenic route, so we're talking various mountains, valleys and of course the National Park. So keep an eye out for that one. It'll be a long old day mind...

I'm sure I'll be fitting in a few WBN rides at some stage, will no doubt have a blast out to Chew Valley and Cheddar Gorge when the weather gets more stable (more for the sake of my friend who has recently upgraded to a z800).

That aside I'll be making a journey down to Appledore in a few months for a holiday break, should be interesting as first long distance ride on my own :D

Hi guys, anyone about from Swansea area?

Runako
13-04-15, 10:32 AM
No but there'll be a ride going up the A470 to North Wales on Sunday 26th. About 20 bikes. You're more than welcome to join us from Swansea. I'll be on my SV.

Grant66
13-04-15, 11:00 AM
Ronnie, did you get tickets for the semi final on Sunday?

NO chance mate! To be fair, I didn't even try. Assumed it will be sold out and expensive but I will be watching it on Telly. I suppose you now have a free Sunday to play! :smt077

They have a great attitude! ;)

Its all good. Mixed group including women riders and pillions. The key is the drop off system. A guy up front with the directions is quick but controlled. The tail end charlie will sweep up everything in between but is rather slooow. So everyone between TEC and lead can ride at their own pace, with a few of the quicker riders marking the route along the way.

One or two stops for fuel, coffee and cake are scheduled. Before a big meet and lunch at the Ponderosa cafe, where some North Walean bikers are due to descend.

Some are joining us from your way so will probably meet us at crossgates and will then be peeling off back home on the way back.

Apparently they were cheaper than Anfield tickets.

I do have a free Sunday :)

You don't want to stay in, you want to go ride around the Welsh countryside.

Runako
13-04-15, 03:58 PM
I do :-)

But I'll have my lady with me :-(

I've tried to persuade her to come on the back but she's having none of it at the minute. I'm dying to get out, but I'll have to see what she says (can't believe I've become one of those guys...)

Grant66
13-04-15, 04:03 PM
Sad, so very sad :)

Good news is I'm also free for the 24th

Runako
13-04-15, 04:08 PM
Sad indeed, I know.

24th or the 26th? The Big rideout is on Sunday 26th. If you didn't want to go all the way, you could join me & some others from Cardiff to meet up with the rest on the way to Crossgates and then find your way back.

I'll be going all the way, but don't expect we'll be coming back until 5ish so it might be a pretty long day for you if you did go all the way. Its gonna be a big one for sure though :-)

Grant66
13-04-15, 04:57 PM
Or the 26th lol

Can always improvise an alternative more direct route back if needs be.

Its an early start mate. Can you get to the Mcdonalds for 8.30? If not, we can meet a little later and play catch up with the group :-D They're meeting at Brecon @ 9am.

Grant66
22-04-15, 10:54 AM
Yeh, that's not a problem. That's breakfast sorted then...

Although I'm waiting to hear back about a bike I may need to go buy. I currently have Plan R or B (plan B does put me at the wrong end of the country on Sunday, but would be able to do the return trip)

Runako
22-04-15, 11:17 AM
Ok mate, no worries. Just let me know either way :-)

I'm going to try and arrange a SW / Wales rideout in August, probably through the Forest toward Abergavenny way and then across to Mid Wales. Will post details in a bit.

I'll be sure to drag ToN and Grant along.

I'd happily go TEC again, always funny following people around some corners

Pop yourselves over the border to Wiltshire for the AR next weekend. Some cracking roads on your way and the Route Daddyjob has lined up should make for an entertaining ride once you get there too.

Which date you thinking?

Runako
22-07-15, 03:57 PM
Hello mate. I'm thinking weekends 8/9 or 15/16th - Will decide on the best day of the four closer to the time. Provisional route:

Cheltenham, Westbury-on-severn, Llanfoist, Brecon (Upper Chappel - Lower Chappel), Hundred House, Crossgates, Newtown.

About 100 miles or so of fast, twisty roads.

If coming back with me, it'll be something like --> Kinghton, Leominster, Malvern, Gloucester.

Pick ups along the way wherever convenient. Stops are probably Aber, Crossgates, Newtown, Leominster.

Just pop those stops into Google Maps to get the picture. Nothing fixed in stone so open to suggestions... the usual rules apply re drop off system etc.

It'll be a fairly sedate ride as I'll be on the SV ;-)

L3nny
22-07-15, 04:34 PM
15th and 16th is GM so weekend before would be better for me, if I'm not working that is.

I've seen you on that SV and it's nothing like sedate!

Runako
22-07-15, 04:59 PM
Haha! I've seen your trackday pics, you hardly hang about :-D

I'm actually moving to Cheltenham shortly. So I'll be missing Wales :-(
However, I'm reassured that it's not very far away, and Google Maps confirms this :-)

I am though arranging a Cotswolds / Cirencester rideout, having already made friends with a local fellow SV rider, Panigale rider & a CBR1000 rider. So I'll post details in due course. Probably end of July ish.

Haha! Yes, and my riding is suffering!

To all: Time is my enemy at the minute, apologies. Likely to be September now and will post details in due course.

Runny, I've seen you ride, I doubt it can "suffer" :smt064

I'll hopefully be in a new gaff soon, so, be up for a ride ending in South East Wales
