View Full Version : Penske 8900 up for grabs
The SV has been sold so I'm having a clear out of bits.
I took this shock off before I sold the bike. It's in great condition (pictures available if you pm you email) and was sprung perfectly for my 14.5 stone weight (without riding gear). It is for a curvy SV and fits without and modifications to the bike.
Not sure of a postage cost as I'll need to weigh it in but I'll make sure it's well wrapped and recorded so it will arrive as it was sent.
Go on, treat yourself ready for the new season!
£275 + postage
Bump.
These are a great shock and transformed the ride on my SV. Any takers before it goes on ebay?
Nice things with penske is that they are fully rebuildable and you can upgrade from one model to another as they all use the same base platform.
If I was looking for a shock ide take it but I already have the 8981.

Hi SvRich
Do you have pictures for uploading?
Thanks
Cheers, TSM, I forgot to add that. They are a great base unit that can be built up as desired (and funds allow :))
Peatland; I'll try to up load a couple in a minute.

Thanks for the pics --- any negotiation on the price?
I may reduce the price a little soon. You could PM me a suggestion.

I have a Penske fitted to my bike and the ride is sublime. Well worth the asking price.
Good luck with the sale.
Cheers, Jayne. I do think it's fair and I'm in no real hurry to sell. Hopefully someone will appreciate it as the riding season picks up. For the cost and time to fit (about half an hour) it was the best mod I ever made.
Still here ready for a new owner :)
Bump.
Go on, you know you want it ;)
Still available, price reduced to £250.
Bump, and reduced to £220 plus the postage.

If it would help, I have a reservoir and hose spare to turn this into an 8983.
I could also service, respring, revalve etc...

I know, but the cars got MOT this week and it could be a big bill.
If not I'm definitely interested
No worries. As it is, you're the only interested person at the moment so its not going anywhere soon. I'm serious about delivery too. Then I can talk you through fitting it over a tea.
I never did get round to sorting the lowers I bought from you. Would you like first refusal before I offer them out?

Nope mate, sell them on, I've just got to repair one of mine, its not a hard job.
I'll be alright fitting it, as I've already got a Hagon installed.
But a chat over a tea would be cool
Nice one.
I remember being surprised at how easy it was to swap in.
Drop me a message when you're ready.

Rich, sell it to Claude, although it would be nice, I don't really need it or have the funds.
Go ahead Claude, its a great upgrade.
If you're sure that's ok?
Rich did you buy new or? Any idea when last serviced?

yep, too many bills and other expenses this month.
Rich did you buy new or? Any idea when last serviced?
Yorkie Chris will service it for you, but i don't think Rich has done many miles on it.

Send him a PM, I'll see if I've got his mob number and give him a prod
Hello :)
Too much work and not enough play recently :(
I bought secondhand at low miles, and haven't put too much on it. When I took it out, it honestly felt as good as when I'd first fitted it. YC is able to service them but I'm not sure how much. He also had the remote to add to it. If you'd still like it I can weigh it this weekend and get an accurate price including delivery.
Cheers,
Rich
Cheers Rich. Interested however the spark plug saga has drained me this month and got a holiday the next which puts me in the same place as Mav. :(
Fecking spark plug.
Can you fit this to a tiger 800
Sorry, I've no idea. I'm sure Penske would be able to tell you though. I seem to remember their site having a fitting table.
Hi Rich. I'm good to go on this, drop me a PM with payment details please :)
It's not(800 tiger) on the list unfortunately.

I think it's my turn if you fancy a ride up north.
Has the shock officially been sold now Rich?
Unless the postage is ridiculous....

It needs MOT'ing :(
Sold!
Cheers Claude. Enjoy :)
Mav - it's an open invitation, whenever you've got a spare afternoon/morning/day/weekend.
Maybe even some track time in the summer? I'd love to get the 800 up to speed :)

Yep Rich, SV needs MOTing first.
You know what its like for free time though, it seems to vanish into thin air
Had one track day already, great fun
Too true. Since starting my new job I seem to have none at all.
