Bought myself a 1999 sv minitwin to do trackdays this year to get faster and race the next.
I hear everyone uses pirelli sc's but I can't seem to find anyone that sells them in the right size. I don't no if they have been discontinued. What does everyone use now?
Need to get some rubber for day at brands next month.

Go for Dunlop GP209 they are far better than Pirelli

The minitwin grid seems to use a mix of pirelli super cosa sc1/sc2, which have been the default choice for some time. The continental race attack have been well received and I've run those on a minitwin track bike and have a fresh set to do some racing this year. Avon have also come out with an Extreme 3D tyre which has been well rated. If you've not got separate wets then a sorts tyre such as the Pilot Power3 will cope in most conditions very well for track day pace.

I've raced Pirellis, dunlops and the Avons last season. All are good so don't worry too much. The Dunlop are the quickest steering and very good in the wet. Pirelli most stable and grippy but crap in the wet. Avons kind of sit in the middle ground and were best value. Quickest laptime was the 209s but there was nothing in it really and I heard theyre discontinuing the brummagem 209s so that might not be an option.

If you do go for the dunlops, Email them for the correct PSI for the track. Its nowhere near the same as the Pirellis or Metzelers. I tried the racing and they were downright dangerous on the SV set at the pirellis standard of 31psi front (hot) and 29psi rear (hot) they need to be higher.
