Hi all,

I bought my SV 4 years ago and it came with the heli bars. Recently (yes I know it has taken me this long...) I have discovered that the bars are not level. The left lock has about an inch gap from the tank whereas the right lock is like a cm.

The problem is, the right side can't be put back level with the left side as the brake fluid cable catches the fairing/screen. I'd like to get both bars level, preferably without putting the left side closer to the tank (as on full lock your thumb gets caught).

I used to think my steering was wonky as the bike always felt like it veered off to the right. Having checked the steering - I now realise what the culprit is!

Anybody got any ideas on how I can resolve this?

Many thanks :)

The curvy S is even harder to get this clearance right. I got a smaller resevior and moved the position so it doesn't foul the fairing, whilst keeping it higher than the master cylinder

Can you post a pic of the offending cable near the fairing?

i had the same problem on the last bike with my gilles. i had to cut the banjo stop off the MC to be able to get the line going straight down

You can turn the spigot for the master cylinder and get a longer reservior hose and move the reservior using a longer bracket, to give you enough clearance.

I'll see if i can find the nice bracket i used on mine

Cool I also meant any idea on where to put the pictures! But yeah I'll need to move the reservoir, the cable and the heated controller...
