Its on my to do list, haven't been!

Guessing I'd need to plan at least 12 months in advance.

It's not impossible for this year but will be very very difficult,Firstly the ferry for next year.....these go on sale for 2016 on the first of June THIS year you will only have to put a deposit on it (about £40)for now and pay about February next year,Secondly Accomadation........This seems to get harder every year, camping is cheapest, but my old bones can't handle canvas anymore,so it's a guest house ,hotel or home stay I found a home stay last year in Douglas and I'm staying again this year with my son,the only advice I can give is email around ASAP for next year or give the Homestay site for the IOM a view.Hope it's been of help and good luck,2 months to go for us....it's just like Christmas!!!!

The ferry gets booked up real quick and although it would be nice to take the bike, I would take Wideboy's advice & don't bother.

So for you & I there are flights from Norwich via Manchester.

I'd do it this way & maybe hire a car at the other end.

Compared to the ferry, the flights weren't expensive.

I'd go out of season on the bike, or go to the Manx GP

The Manx/Classic will be mostly taken in seacat bookings at least by now was bike space only on the plum crossings when I booked back in February. Looking forward to seeing some different machinery racing the roads as I went to the TT for over 10 years to '03.:)

Yeah going over on the Friday of practice week through race week.

Tips for booking.... get as many phone's as you can dialling the sailing booking office as soon as they open. One year we had 2 mobiles, a land line and the laptop on the go for 2 hours from the opening time and still didn't get through. My father in law works opposite the ferry terminal in heysham and walked over in his tea break to book the tickets with no fuss, so if you're local it's alot quicker to go get the tickets in person. We went over on home stay once and are now on good terms with a house owners who gives us first dibs every year whilst he jets off to Spain. As for taking your bike, has to be done at some point. I don't bother now simply because of cost and not being able to supple liquid nourishment as often.

BanannaMan...... Do it, get some okell's down your neck. We meet plenty of yanks and aussie's over there.

Everytime I've been over for the southern it's 2 hours before as loading can take forever
