View Full Version : Junction procedures
Help! I did my Cbt in February and have had a 125 for around a month but I'm confusing myself at junctions.
Don't shout at me here but I need a reminder on the proceedures at junctions. There was an acronym for it to help remember but I've forgotten that too.

Is there something specific you're confused by at junctions?

Does anyone actually find a totally unmemorable set of letters helpful as an aid memoir?
A virtual prize for the first orger to come up with something really useful as a memory jogger.

Holy Crap! They really teach that to new riders? What are they trying to do, completely distract them and seize up their brains?
You do exactly the same things at a junction that you do in a car, or on a bicycle or on foot. Well, you don't have to signal if your on foot.
Crumbs I thought
ipsga was bad enough!

MSM was what I was taught many years ago, easy to remember and works well. :driving:

Forget about long winded procedures for a moment. OSM PSL? WTF??
The fact is you are confused at junctions means you do not have enough time. The fact you do not have enough time means you are going too fast for your current capabiities.
Step 1: Slow down sooner before the junction.
Before any manoeuvre (slow down is also manoeuvre) check around using mirrors and yes turning your head as well aka lifesafer\\:D/
Step 2: Postion - If you turn left stay close to the curb. If you turn right stay close to the right. If you are going straight keep in the middle of the lane.
Step 3: Signal - before the junction give signal
Try to follow these 3 simple steps and let us know how it goes :)
