A quadbike - filtering allowed or not? Thoughts?

Legally, I don't believe so. Highway code refers to them as quadricycles. Filtering only relates to motorcycles in general advice and motorcycle specific rules. Same for trikes.

Nope it's not legal for the point balky makes.
The 3 wheel scooters are allowed as they are tricycles

I wasn't aware that it wasn't legal but when I saw it, it didn't look right.
Guess that's that conversation closed! :-)

I'm not sure its specifically illegal but there's nothing covering it because it would be very difficult to achieve, just as filtering in a car would be tricky.

Filtering is simply overtaking, if you can manage it on a quad with due care and consideration for other road users help yourself........ Don't fancy your chances much though!
Some quads are not much wider than a Wing or BMW GS.
I would be very very selective on where and when I did it,making yourself the filling in a car sandwich is not the best of choices, legally I agree with Red Herring, but assume that between cars you are undertaking one as you overtake the other!!!

true but you've also got to be able to stuff it into the gaps between cars. I don't see many people doing major filtering on goldwings.
maybe on wide motorways.
I don't think my old Mini was any wider than a Wing.

The incident I saw was in High Wycombe, as Eastern Street bends round in front of the law courts. Quite wide but I felt the sentiment was wrong.
Sentiment is probably the right word, in general motorists don't like the though of someone getting ahead unfairly however motorcyclists are seen differently as there's little chance if they filter the motorist will be held up later as they'll be long gone, I'm not so sure motorists would feel the same way about quads....
