Well, I bit the bullet & took Suzuki up on their 0% finance deal. I am now the proud owner of my 3rd 650 Suzuki, but this time I've gone for the Gladius. I picked her up at lunchtime today, took her for a little 50 mile bimble & I've loved every minute of it. I doubt whether I'll need any suspension upgrades as it beats the standard SV hands down, but I am going to have to get an aftermarket exhaust for her.

He knocked a nice chunk of money off, so i couldn't complain. I didn't like the look of them, but it's growing on me now.

I'm amazed at the difference between this & my old Curvys. Had the missus on the back & it felt totally planted & unfazed

Nice Col, I've always liked them, except for the exhaust.

Even though it doesn't need suspension upgrades & do think a GSXR front end would look really cool

Just had my 1st longish run on it. **** is numb, but it's giving me my confidence back, been hunting roundabouts out just to play, it's bloody great. About time I started enjoying motorcycling again. TeeJay, they have a flap over the plugs to stop water getting in, which seems a clever idea.
Andy, I wouldn't have minded a pink one. When I get used to it, it would have been fun to see some "Rossi" wannabees getting past by an old fart on a pink Girlie bike ;)

Quick update.
I have bought an aftermarket can for it off Ebay. It's direct from the manufacturer at less than £100. The quality looks ok (except for the 2 mounting bolts that snapped when I tried to take them off to remount the can) & sounds good with the baffle removed, not overly loud. I don't like where the can sits, so am going to have a go at making my own bracket to raise it up a bit to follow the lines of the bike more.

i've got a tail tidy on it's way too, so that will get rid of all of the things (except for the seat) that I don't like about the bike. Will update when it's fitted

Latest update.
Now fitted a tail tidy. Took nearly 2 and a half hours, stripped virtually the whole back of the bike down to get it fitted. Looks ace though. Think that might be it now, no more mods.

I'd the same **** problem! Got a local upholsterer to have a look at mine, the seat that is, and he replaced an area with D50 foam. Shaped it and recovered using the original cover. It's now more comfy, no problems with riding for an hour, and slighter lower, which suits my short but not so sore ****!

Another update.
1st service done, so went for an early morning ride this morning. All I can say is that she can outhandle me by a fair margin :) This bike is simply awesome & as somebody said on my facebook, Suzuki should be selling shedloads of them. I can't understand why people are still buying SV's, this thing will walk all over one. I'm really, really pleased I bought a girl's bike now instead of an SV.

Chicken strips? What are they? That's on BOTH sides too ;)

Whoops. I think that Suzuki need to make the hero blobs a bit smaller.

They told me that mine should've been £85, but they do special offers for all of their new bikes sold. I've got tokens for the next 2 services as well. If their rates go up, I'm guaranteed todays rates :)

What's so different about it?

mister c
22-06-15, 04:06 AM
The suspension is completely different. Its running Dunlop qualifiers as standard, so it just gives you so much confidence. I was about 4 miles from home 7 have 2 ways to get there, one takes in 1 roundabout, the other, 3. I ended up turning left to do 1 roundabout twice, it feels that much fun. I haven't had that in a bike in years.

Bought an MRA Double Bubble Screen for Gladys the other day. I found that at speed, the bars shook & made it feel a bit nervous. The screen has now completely stopped it. Not bad for £60 :)
