I have an old Galaxy Ace on Android Gingerbread. It doesn't have a whole lot of memory despite various fiddles so I had to ditch the Facebook app a while back (it was crap anyway) and so have just been using the native browser. Now that won't load it either (still works on other sites). Is it just me? There is some technical wibble on t'internet about them making the app smaller for older phones, but the state of the latest reviews is dire. Now you can't reply to an email alert to reply to a FB message as in the past, and I can't get onto it unless I'm sat at home. Is this progress? Grr.

Go to Google play store. Download free app 'fast reboot'. Cures
most problems with loading in older androids .
Occasionally you still have to take the battery out on all androids.

Good luck. I still have an old Galaxy Ace in a drawer as a backup handset but as you say the memory is woeful. Two or three apps and it was full...

Do you know if the Galaxy Ace on sale now is the same one you are talking about Johnny?? I was thinking of buying one as they are cheap now.

I'm sure there is a mk2 and mk3 version. If it has about 200MB memory it's the original one and hopeless if you want to use more than one or two apps. The specs of the later ones are much better.
