There is a snorkel for a 650 for sale in the for sale bit... don't know if they're compatible?

i have a cut down one from the 1k (draws air from the tank/frame gap) somewhere if that helps.

Just after a standard one really - Im commuting in all weathers so want to avoid sucking in water/grit etc on motorways.

I could always fit the 650 one back in but thats besides the point lol

I've ridden in all weathers on a SV1000 with no airbox lid on at all and never had anything in my filter apart from bits of leaves and feathers which you'd get anyway. I'd not loose too much sleep over it.
