Despite advice from the Docs to stay off the bike, I was back on the bike again, less than a month after two heart attacks and blood clots in one lung.
Had a great 200 mile rideout to the mountains and honestly it may all really be mental but it feels like it did more for returning my physical strength than anything I've done. I feel great!
And enjoyed the riding and the scenery more than I have in a while.

Here's a few pics:

One of the many places in the world known as 'Lover's Leap'.
Interestingly enough, although locals at every place claim the story to be true, the story for all these places is almost exactly the same tale.

Good man this is way quicker than I expected. Nothing better than a nice relaxing run on the bike to aid recovery :)

That's some serious camber on the corners in picture 2, you must be able to scoot round them at a comfortable pace.

nice to see you out and about on the bike bill.

i will however play devils advocate here. have you had the final x-rays to confirm that your sternum is knitted back together. until you have had the all clear from this then you could potentially do a lot of harm and be back in getting a plate bolted onto your chest. i have seen someone having this done due to not being patient and you dont want that.

Thanks Bibs, mine was all stents with a complication of blood clots in one lung a week later.
They did tell me I should quit riding because of the blood thinners and increased risk of bleeding should I crash.
I reminded them I would only be on the blood thinners for a few months but they said I should still give up riding.
I told them that would not be happening. LOL
American doctors all hate motorcycles but I think it's because the majority of American riders don't wear any protective kit.

Blimey, sorry Bill had missed your ill health or it had slipped my cluttered mind. Can the org please stop having heart attacks? Thanks.

Glad to see you enjoying the bike :)

My discharge letter to my GP from my elbow surgeon states 'I have advised the patient that the best course of action to avoid further damage to the elbow is to sell her motorcycle. As she is unlikely to follow my advice to do this I have advised her further that the second best course of action is to avoid crashing the motorcycle'.

Ha bloody ha, thanks sarcastic Mr Surgeon!

Nothing like the prospect of a nice ride to speed your recovery.
