View Full Version : Youtube, and a bit of temptation

inspired by Tamsen on here by setting up her youtube channel, (good vids btw and I have subbed), decided to start actually doing something with mine.

Uploading some videos from gigs/festivals that some of you may like and obviously bike rides :D I'm just starting at the editing so bare with me on it.

Whats your thoughts on positioning of camera's etc? What angles do you like watching video's from? I was thinking of getting a mount for the mirror bars as the countours are a little weird with the fitting? Doo tell.

Heres the latest vid (allot of the footage is from LOM's GoPro behind me, and mixed with my own). The temptation is that this is the Kinlochleven loop going to the hotel for the GM.

Personally I find the split screen bit a distraction.

Camera angle is good.
Have seen vids from the camera in the fairing showing the front wheel and road that looked good if done correctly.

Either music or more motor noise or both.
Someones always going to knock the tune you've selected but most I know just turn the sound and listen to their own fav's if they don't like yours.

Just my 2 pence.
Keep up the good work I like your bike vids.

I was thinking of the angle from the fairing under the wheel.. tempted but abit iffy as I know my luck, ill loose the camera, run over it, come flying off... and after all that... I wont have turned it on so I wont have captured my graceful dismount.

I may just switch from angle to angle rather that PIP now, it was just abit of a play to see how to do it. i do like it and I think its good when the bike is close from behind and you can see the lean, but sometimes I think the angle is wide. I think LOM wanted to try a narrow angle next time to see what we get.

I'm going to try and turn up the sensitivity on my camera for the internal MIC and see If I can get any sound out of it, just is so low and muted its horrible

Glad you like them :)

oh yeah way faster ;-). you can get the practice in during the GM.

I'm thinking about heading up early Saturday to see Mark and Helen (& do a few laps) so I should be able to get you some footage.

Oooh challenge! Probably end up with me putting myself in the Loch!

Swaffle your first video inspired me and I did the road along Loch Earn and through St Fillans on Saturday, didn't have a camera though. Which reminds me I really need to get my go pro attached to the bike somewhere.

Dean I might be up for a run Saturday if you want company (attach usual weather condition here!), Sunday is meant to be the better day mind.

The idea was leave at SCARY early. So I can get up to the Hotel for 10 am at the latest.

Richy, I was gonna post my first video on here but I don't think its good enough to justify it. If Alan does come with me I'll do my best to keep up with him and that new bike of his. So hopefully get you some footage of us on the Scotsburgring :)

If the weather looks good I can do silly early!

Ha I will let you lead and try to keep up. Someone on an r6 rinsed me on Saturday, though to be fair I think they were trying a lot harder and their overtakes were scandalous!

It was amazing, the route that dean's done is fantastic.. going around loch earn... LOM's better half described me as and I quote "letting a dog off the leash..... gone!" I'd love to see the footage of you guys doing places, need to see what I can do better to improve.

Bibio

ok i think i'l calculating distance, speed, time wrong.

i'm taking the distance multiplying by 60 then dividing by the min... so lets say 8 miles x 60 / 5min = 96mph?
