I have an sv650s K3 and have been reading that you can change the handlebars to a more upright set (more of a touring position)?
Has anyone come across this or done it with their own bike?
I'm thinking about it as long rides kills my back and I'm thinking this could maybe help??

Jayneflakes did this. She will have posted a thread on it. Have a search.

Loads of us have

I use Gilles Vario Bars, others use a top yoke conversion to use normal handlebars.

You may need longer cables & brake lines if you change the bars, but it is worth it

I like the superbike bars I put on mine. $20 U.S. But you'd have to change or modify the top triple clamp.
It will help, but exercising to strengthen your back is a good idea anyway. I'm 65, and keeping my back in shape is why I still like riding the RC-51 (modified for comfort, but not much!) but not for long days anymore, about a 200 mile max.

I did it ages ago on my K3, fitting a set of motocrosser bars, four inch risers and still kept my fairing.

Sadly some of the photos have now gone missing from my build thread (http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=157076&page=1) due to sharing them Facebook and then facebook updating things and shifting stuff around like total turds!

Anyway, this is the bike now. :p
