No we haven't made a guest appearance on The Archers, but Chris 8886 and I did take part in a programme called The Listening Project which we recorded about ten weeks ago.
This 4 minute segment is part of a much longer hour long recording which will go into the British Library archive.
Chris and I talk about how his brain injury has affected his life and our friendship. It was broadcast last week.
Here's the link if you'd like to listen.

I've heard some great little vignettes on 'The Listening Project' so listened to this. Great little conversation and shows your friendship shining through.

I heard this the other day on the radio driving home. It was a great listen.
I really like some of the stuff that's come from the listening project. Really nice snapshots of peoples lives

Wow. I don't think I've ever had a friendship like that; the closest I've had to such conversations have been with immediate family and my wife.
I found that incredibly moving as well as impressive - how you could be strong enough to consciously decide to have that conversation is beyond me.

I think the hardest conversation I had with Chris was when he said he wasn't going to sign the consent form to have the defib fitted. I told him that it was his decision, but if he didn't have it I was leaving the hospital that night and our friendship was over because at some point his heart would stop again and I would probably have to watch him die.
He signed it that night and had it fitted within a few days. It has since gone off several times and saved his life.

I can see that was difficult but it was presumably reactive. Planning to have a hard conversation is more difficult I think.
Chris, for the record, you're a ****wit! :-)
