Hi all

I've a 2012 sv650s, just put iridium plugs and a k&n air filter in her, she seems to breath easier if that makes sense however, when I'm blipping on the down shifts she cuts out between 3-2?? Is there anyway I can reset the ecu? Or is it a remap?
I had not probs before this?

first question. were there nibs on the plugs or just plain threads?
second question. did you make sure all the breather and vacuum hoses were on the airbox after you were mucking about?

i have noticed that NGK iridium plug threads are very very thin so make sure you have not snapped/fractured the threads. i have dont this to 4 plugs.. yes 4. i dont know whether it was a bad batch at the time or not.

you dont need to reset the ECU or even if you can.. well i can clear the codes with my doohhdahh.

The problems, have they occured since the k&n air filter swap? If so, Isn't that signs of running lean? What colour are your spark plugs?

I've just recently put back my stock filter as the k&n gave me a flat spot at 5k and at idle, it didnt seem to run all that great.

Also, make sure you have a tight seal on your air box as the plastic stopper thingys in the threads of the screws are pita, and will cause you not to get a good seal.

A K&N air filter will not make an SV run lean, or cut out. Go back over what you have done and check for anything kinked or not plugged in properly.

Is this all you have done or have you also swapped the handlebar levers for aftermarket ones ?

Ah ha !!! Yes prokartman !!! Clutch lever has been replaced and does not have the little plate for the switch under the handle bars !!!!
Though the switch was to start the bike but I can start it by not pressing the lever in.
What is that switch then ???

Have a look here: http://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=153323

Apparently the clutch switch also affects the fuel & ignition maps on the later injected bikes.
