Has anyone got one of these? What are folks thoughts?
I like to listen to music whilst riding but the hassle of cables is a pain. Plus would rather be able to switch it off at the touch of a button opposed to having to fumble about getting my phone out my pocket to stop my music.
Do you know if you can opt to not use the speaker mic bit? Can it be disconnected? I likely won't have much use for it. But nice to have as an option.
Any advice/thoughts gratefully received!
Cheers

I have the SMH10 and love it. Easy to use, good battery life & something i wouldn't ride without now.
TBH it doesn't matter if the microphone is disabled or not (unless you answer calls).

I've got an SMH5, works just fine, have used it with my phone and played music through it to test and it's worked fine up to 60mph with my Shoei GT Air, not tested it for music above that but communications are okay to about the 70mph mark and music is louder so would expect it to work fine. Microphone plugs into the connector block separately so I guess it could be used without. I bought the optional wired mic (http://www.sportsbikeshop.co.uk/motorcycle_parts/content_prod/97443) which fits in my helmet fine and I haven't noticed it's there. Battery life is currently at least 5 hours as this is the most I'ved used before charging so I haven't run it dry yet.
A downside with a single channel is that you can only connect a phone or a sat nav atany one time. Another minor downside is if you are using it for communications you have to switch between the communications channel and the bluetooth channel as there is no fade over. Oh and a minor irritation is it uses a series of LED flashes to show battery life,so it ether has 70-100% battery, 30-70% battery or <30% battery.
It is a little on the expensive side but it does exactly what it's supposed to and is low fuss. About 4/5* if I was rating it.

Hi
Thanks very much for those reviews. Very useful indeed. And the wired mic is defo something I think I'll likely get. Looks as if it will be much tidier and unnoticeable. I think I know what I'll be doing with my birthday money now! :)

SMH10 with stock speakers work all the way through to the SV's top speed, you just need plugs in ye ears.
The SMH10 mounts, there's two you can pick up ( one has detachable speakers ), both feature detachable microphones.
I recently snapped the mount to mine last week after a year of owning a pair, cost 40 quid for a replacement mount, but the short period of time I was riding without having the Sena and music to listen to really made me appreciate it. Can't imagine any kind of distance riding without one now.

Well I took the plunge and purchased the smh05 and I think it's fabulous. I also ordered the wired mic (thanks nutsinatin)
So far I've only listened to music with it. And I'm very impressed. The external unit looks smart at the side of the Helmet as well.
I have the same, very happy with sound quality. Voice dialling took some getting used to. Now works well.
