I'm keeping an eye out for a nice k2 at the minute and am shocked at what some people 'think' their bike is worth. So if your surfing and you see some thing expensive, please add it. No track/race prep'd bikes

Mine : MCN 99 T reg 5200miles £3500 !!!!

Do fancy paint jobs count?

Also, is the idea to beat your price, or just post abhorrently over priced curvies?

PhilSV
06-07-15, 10:21 AM
Its the wildliufe one thats now on ebay, was on MCN .LOL !! Yuk ! Just overpriced curvies, or anything that makes you take a sharp intake of breath/ laugh !!

THIS! (http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201505213658499/sort/pricedesc/postcode/gu337hn/radius/1501/make/SUZUKI/model/SV/cc-to/700cc/page/1/usedbikes)

X reg 12k miles £2,975.

Apparently has traction control, ABS, LCD screen and "upgraded mirror package" and is also apparently a car.

To top it off, it also has a stainless exhaust AND a titanium exhaust.

Red ones
06-07-15, 12:52 PM
I like that one.
All those mods and still factory spec. It must be the subtlety of the uprated mirrors, LED indicators and the carbon fibre mudguard that keeps the price up. Afterall they almost look like standard parts, along with the Stainless/titanium exhaust that looks just like the standard can.

Wish I'd got a sum close to that price for my X reg when I sold it 10 years ago!

Matt-EUC

They're not that far off new nowadays.

That's got to be one of the worse designed paint jobs ever.
I'm sure the owner thinks that makes it worth more as well.

You can get a brand new pre-reg SV for £4200, with 0% finance as well!

The crazy thing is, the dealers actually think they will get that money for it. I've had some good deals on bikes but I've also tried to negotiate with a salesman who is convinced his bike is worth 50% more than it is and wont budge.

How can a bike that age only have 5200 miles? I presume whoever painted it never actually rode it anywhere

PhilSV
12-07-15, 06:03 PM
Ive seen a 2001 with 1800, yes 1800 miles on it for sale £2k its yours, myself I think id spend 2k on a k6!!

My curvy only had 5k on the clock when I bought it.

According to the salesman at the dealer where I bought my Strom, the average mileage expected for a 3 year old bike was 6k.

Had a lovely curry tonight, made especially good by how rare they are in our house as youngest likes them, but is allergic to something in them and vomits copiously after eating, he is away with his horse for the week so we are making the most of it.

My word, I'm looking to off load my K4 next month, its needs a bit of TLC and by no means mint condition and I was looking for £800. Might have to rethink my price now LOL :-k:D:D

L3nny
17-03-16, 12:36 PM
To be fair, that does look like a lot of money has been spent on it. Forks, tail, bars, paint job and probably shock as well.

svrich_02
17-03-16, 12:42 PM
Oh yeah, just wouldn't be for me. Sorry to go off on a tangent but before I put my K4 up for sale would the org agree £800 would be a realistic price?

As I say its been used in all weathers so gives you and idea of condition. MOT'd till Sept 16. It's got a few mods. Raised rental bars, braided lines, scotoiler. Part service history and had new chain and sprokets fitted last November, 40K on the clock but due to a recent very slow off the akropovic can is bent.

Cheers

L3nny
17-03-16, 12:50 PM
Got £1200 for a k7 in similar condition last year, although the mileage was half what yours was so yeah, decent price. I'd say clean it up, ask for a grand and see what happens :)

The same seller is also selling a mudgard for a 125 for £220.

The description cracks me up............

Good bits/extras:
Tail tidy. Michelin Road 2 Tyres. (65-75% lifetime left) Delkevic silencer (AMAZING V2 SOUND! ).
Belly pan.
R&G Crash Bobbins.
Fresh M.O.T. No issues.
Carbon effect filler cap & top yoke cover.
Washable sport air filter (Maintained).
Piramid rear huger / mudguard - chain guard.
Fully checked over (by Major Motorcycles!)
Swing arm lifter bobbins

Bad points:
Rider's seat has some crack on it. Brake calipers are a bit tatty (Previous paint job). No binding brake!
Drive chain has got some tight spot.
Service required. No record about previous service history.
Only 1 ignition key.
Frame covers are missing. (Black, small plastic covers, under rider's seat.)

Don't concern yourself that it needs a service and has no service history, the washable air filter has been maintained - well that's a relief!!

I guess it must be the fake carbon top yoke cover that's commanding such a high price.
