Well, you can't expect them all to be "on" all the time. They put on an act on telly, they're all people too, and everyone has bad days.

That's true, but be'll I'd met Bjorn Bourg & Greg Rusedski in the same lift and both said 'hello' and I had a quick chat with Greg.
Our Cilla wasn't as forthcoming

What were you expecting her to say, "Step inside love"? Something tells me that Anyone who had a heart would but If I thought you would ever change then You're my world.......

I see her in the same vein as Bob Monkhouse and Bruce Forsyth. Rather tacky, should have had the dignity to retire years ago.
Every interview with Cilla makes it look like she was the 5th Beatle; seems that she worked in the cloakstore.
That said, I hope she died quickly and painlessly.

She broke down some barriers. She did start out as a cloakroom girl but also performed in the club.
And then at a time when few females were given the chance to front their own show she was one of the first to do so.
It's easy for us to look back on that era as a bit tacky, remember we only had 2 maybe three TV channels! But I think Jack Whitehouse is just dreadful, I never got The Mighty Boosh at all and I would quite happily punch Graham Norton and Jonathan Ross.

I agree with your disdain for current TV - I watch about 1 hour a week, maybe 2.
I like dads army tho so I'm not against all old TV progs.
I doubt I watch even 2 hrs of terrestrial TV. I have sky and mostly watch Discovery, Turbo and History channels. The other half says I am a boring old fart because I don't want to watch "Entertainment" channels.

er, she did retire years ago. Blind date ended in '03 and she only really did a few guest appearances in stuff for the next ten years.
