View Full Version : Flames at 4.5-4k rpm
I recently did the tps and the stvs but i keep getting flames whenever i decelerate..and only at 3.5-4k rpm. Sometimes all it needs is to rev up to 4k or 4.5k and let the throttle off, and it throws flames... I relay want to fix this cuz i tend to cruise trough town ad 4k rpm. Any thought`s what can be causing this? It`s a 04 sv650, removed tre, and alternative to the sv1000 snorkel. Can`t think of any other mods that would affect this.

I'm not helping, am I?
Not realy, but i understand...flames are cool xD only when i know why they're apearing...in my case...not so cool xD
Mine had a huge backfire around this rev point on overrun. Found it to be that the garage had left a PAIR tube unattached. I was normally on the bike so couldn't tell if it was chucking flames but it sounded like a shotgun going off and generally made me jump out of my seat.
So... check PAIR tubes.
After that, I'd say check spark plugs. If unburnt fuel is getting to the exhaust, it means it's not being burnt in the cylinder so could be a weak spark or dirty plug.
Pair are connected. I checked the valve clearance some tie ago and i'm 100% sure i plugged them right.
Oh and i also run Sebring Twister slip on(shorty)

I agree, that is cool, put the pair system back on!!
Those are older videos. The last time the flames there were a bit less flames tho :P
I'll try to tune the bike for it's richer condition. And after that i might put the pair back...i wouldn't want to ruin the environment xD

Keep the flames, will help warm up yer hands in winter ;-)
If you have an aftermarket exhaust then dump the PAIR system and get it mapped. Should sort out any issues you're having!
