Has anyone had this happen?

I noticed one melty bit and thought I'd been careless with the soldering iron. Then two weeks later another appeared.

I searched t'internet and a CBR owner blamed his double bubble screen and sunlight.
So I thought back and both times I noticed this it was parked in the same sunny spot at the same time but two weeks apart. Maybe as the height of the Sun changed over the two weeks causing two distinct scorch marks. It was parked with back towards the rising Sun and the rays must have been focused by the inside of the screen!

I think I attached a picture, but I could be wrong...

It does happen, the right combination of sun and magnification can cause it

Weirded me out for a while, thought it was some electrical short that was going to set the whole cluster on fire.

Yeah, worry about it when people coming the other way are flashing their lights and pointing!!

Yeah, it's Essex. Car drivers here don't approve of bikes overtaking without at least a quarter mile of clear road and a bloke waving a red flag in front of you!!

Oh and filtering in traffic is "cheating"!
