I have a 2006 SV and I'm pulling my hair out trying to get the coolant reservoir out.

I looked at the parts diagram and it said there is the left upper bolt by the plastic arm-shaped hanger you can visibly see through the frame.

The diagram also says there's a second bolt on the backside of the reservoir holding it to the metal bracket. But I can't find it by sticking my hand down there looking for it. I doubt I could reach it either, even if I could find it.

Does anyone know how to remove the coolant reservoir without taking the engine out?

Your answer appears to be here:

As i have the engine out it was worth a check, this little bottle has overflow rubber hoses coming in and going out and is a very important part of your engines ability to keep cool and breath!

As per Muzzikill's post.

A lot of effort for little gain unless you HAVE to get the bloody thing out!! In which case I feel your pain.

I took mine out on a 2004 model without removing the engine, its doable but really tight.
I can't fully remember how, may have taken it out downwards after moving the big coolant pipe from radiator to coolant pump.
