It's set then!

Meetup Location: Southwold Pier
Date & Time: 6th December 11:30am

See you all there!

Hi Guys,

Lets get a date sorted and an idea of numbers for a fish and chips meet up in Southwold this December!

I'm setting a deadline of the 19th November (2 weeks from now) for the poll so we can post up what is happening early enough to give people time to plan for it!

We can probably get some others on FB involved this year too, but we choose the date here :)

Let's make this one happen and with more than 2 people turning up!!

I'm a bit stuffed for dates this year, due to my weekend contract hours & the way Christmas Public Holidays fall.

So I'm only free one weekend :-(

Although if I work some more sunday hours in November, I may be able to do the 20th as an alternative

We had 3 bikes last year and even 2 Suzukis! (albeit only 1 SV :) )

Looking at the calendar the first weekend looks like my only option - once again I will be on the 125 as the Hornet is laid up ready for its small transformation over the winter :D

Definitely more than 3 bike's

Although Skip only counts as half a bike lol

So it looks like Sunday 5th December is our date then!

Meet there for 11am ish?

We can arrange any meets for an earlier on meetup when en-route to Southwold if anyone wants to do that? I'll be heading from Norwich and can make the route a little more winding if that'll work for others?

We could sort out a little 1hr ride for after if the weather is forgiving maybe? Not sure on this though....thoughts?

Yep, 5th is good for me. Bikes going in for mot tomorrow.

I'd say 11.30 ish, as if ntecuk is riding from essex

If it's cold I'll have to use the car as my poor old knee is a killer.

How good are these fish and chips? Thinking for making a road trip to this if thats ok with you all?

Providing we are not under 10 feet of snow!!

NTECUK
24-11-15, 01:16 PM
It's more the route than the chips.
But it's a good cafe

Good but not cheap! Beans on toast is £5.95 if memory serves - but still at this time of year there are not many options!

Plus the excellent view out of the cafe window, the ride out is pants, depending on the weather

Hang the expense, its only once a year :D

The 5th is a Saturday. Won't be able to make it as A-I'm working and B- the SV still has its intermittent fuel leak that I need to sort over the Chrimbo break. Going to try replacing the crimp connectors with jubilee clips of the fuel injection link pipe.

BMW is tucked up safely in the garage - taxed, insured and MOTd and test ridden for 40 miles - verdict so far is that we both love it! :D Will definitely bring it on Saturday :)

Sorry guys, the vote overwhelmingly was for the 6th (Sunday) but for some reason I read that as the 5th (5 votes....doh)

Everyone okay with Sunday the 6th? I suspect most went with the voted result and not my stupidity ;) I've updated the posts now to match the vote...we meet on the Sunday!

Good man, now for Kenzie to agree he is coming! He always bails out the last minute, it's time he turned up!

As for the weather you need some severe conditions to test your new vehicle!

Anyone coming from the Norwich area that want's to meet up on Sunday before heading onto Southwold let me know!

maviczap

Its ok, hopefully dryish. I'll be doing a straight run from Tesco's at Martlesham again, as the back roads are awash with leaf debris & slippery as a bannna skin on ice

Ch00
05-12-15, 09:17 AM
The weather looks like its settling down wind wise. I am coming.

Mav I can meet you at that Tescos if you would like? Just name your time!

I also need to be heading home around 2ish. Not that I need chaperone. I've been North before !! :D

Choo, yep no problem. 10:30 - 10:45 at Tesco's Martlesham will give us plenty of time.

When you get there, park up at the start of the first car parking bay in the car park, not like NTECUK did, and go into the CP. We nearly left without him last year :-)

Its a bit of a dull route, straight there & back, but the back roads aren't nice at the moment.

2 ish will be fine, we'll be done by then & all wanting to head home

That'll teach you to do it online next year.

Well another successful fish & chip ride, nice dry roads, windy coming back, I would have like to have done a bit more back road riding rather than the A12 & A14, but who can tell what the weathers going to be like.

Anyway the BMW owners club turned out in force

Maybe a new venue next year, as the prices are sky high & the portions are getting smaller :pale:

kaivalagi
06-12-15, 03:50 PM
yeah, each year a new venue wouldn't be so bad, north norfolk coast has a fair few options....Hunstanton, Wells, Sheringham, Cromer, Walcott to name a few

I was considering coming but the wind put me off. As I ride a naked, I am affected more by winds. I was riding in crosswinds on Thursday and it was not nice.

More holes for the wind to go through.
Tiger's sort of naked and there were two of them.

After all you can't get a SV ride out without the triumph owners group lol.

Really enjoyable ride there and some of the way back - took a quick route back to Norwich that was almost arrow straight *yawn* - still, it was great to be out on what felt like a proper ride out at this time of year! :D
