Braided hoses going rusty

I have a set of braided brake hoses ready for a clip on conversion, cleaned them up today and looks like the steel braid has rusted and discoloured the hoses in places; does anybody have any experience in whether this is an issue?

Saw Hel lines on my Dad's bike that went like that. Different spots in the middle of the lines - it's not like it was just at the end fittings which might have made more sense.

There was never a problem with performance but it's not something he felt comfortable with. Returned them for replacements so didn't get the opportunity to cut them open.

I'd see if the manufacturer will replace them if it was me.

I had hel line fail on my car before had to slow down on a off ramp using the bushes at the side. Best to replace them asap

I had Hel's do the same on a bike a bought, gave them a call and they sent new one FOC no questions asked.
