Decided to upgrade so I need to sell up first.
MOT till 17th Sep 2016 with 2 keys and V5 present.
Bike was bought last summer as a non runner and brought back upto scratch over the autumn. Its been used regularly ever since.
As part of the works, the bike had a pretty hefty overhaul. All lines flushed, front end swapped out (now adjustable), carbs cleaned and checked over, fuel tap/filter replaced, EBC HH brake pads both ends, general major service, new horn etc. I’ve got some hand written notes from the mechanic which covers everything done, just too much to list here.
Bike was previously used as a long distance commuter so has done just under 74.5k miles.
Bike does have some good and bad points though.
First the bad:
Bike was declared as a Cat D write off back in 2005 I think. Damage was cosmetic only. Bike has been MOT’d and run since with no issues but the front fairings have seen better days. Front left is cracked and is also broken around the rear lug.
For a 1999 bike with this millage, there are a number of chips, scratches etc from use. So if you want a show room finish bike, this probably isn’t for you.
Link pipe on exhaust is corroded. More a cosmetic thing as it didn’t effect the mot, just an advisor that the bracket was corroded.
Good points:
Mechanically the bike is fine. Runs well and pulls as a V twin should! Sounds amazing with the Remus can on too.
Loads of life left in both tyres.
Bike has had a number of improvements / mods over the years.
Bike has been lowered (original dog bones available to revert back)
ZX6R rear shock (cant verify this though)
Adjustable front end
Remus GP can
Oxford heated grips
Hand guards
Mirror extenders
Rear hugger
Fender extender
R&G crash bungs
Bobbins front and rear
Tinted blue screen
Scott oiler
I’ve a number of spare bits and pieces I’ll include in the sale if wanted. Everything from Haynes manual to old front end.
PM for photos.
