It comes with a heavy heart that I have decided to sell my SV. After breaking my leg 18 months ago and now being the proud father of 9 month old twins, it just doesn't get ridden any more (much like it's owner nowadays...).

Details:

2004 K4 with 22k miles. I've owned it since 2007 and 12k miles. It's had a couple of proper services in that time (including the valve clearances at around 15k) but most of the work I've done myself including yearly oil+filter changes. I've had braided hoses fitted front and back - the calipers have also been professionally rebuilt and powder coated with new pads fitted last year. It's also shod with newish (probably less than 500 miles) Dunlop Qualifiers. The chain was replaced last year. It has a Viper carbon end can which was professionally fitted when the valve clearances were done.

About two years ago I replaced the forks for some newer ones - not really for any reason other that at the time it was something I wanted to do. Heavier fork oil was used because I'm a little chunky. On a whim I decided to spray the forks black. This looked sweet at the time, but a lot of the paint has chipped off. A sand down or a respray and they'd look as good as new.

It's not been thrashed, but it's been a workhorse running in most weather so has some signs of wear and tear. It was dropped from standing prior to my ownership which scuffed the outermost points of the front and tail fairing on the left side along with a little dent in the tank. I've never looked into replacing the fairings as I didn't think it was much of a big deal. I've replaced the rear lights with clear ones and it has LED indicators all round. It has an Ermax undertray and R.Send tail tidy along with a metal 'SV650' chain guard. It also has some random ebay frame sliders and a proper carbon front mudguard. I've replaced the screen with a dark tinted one and the levers with some adjustable blue ones.

Mechanically, it's been a real trooper. The only issue that I've ever had was around 3 years ago when a spark plug decided to give up the ghost about a mile into a trip with the wife on the back. I had a spare one in the toolbox at home so it was swapped out without much fuss. It's been annoyingly good at continuing to work without trouble which has meant I couldn't justify getting anything bigger/faster etc.

Pictures below. I've realised I've not actually got any recent ones so I'll get a few that also show the scuffs etc mentioned above.

£1000, open to offers. It'll come with 12 months MOT and I'll even chuck in all the spare parts I've accrued over the years. It's not on ebay yet as I'd prefer it to go to an SV'er.

EDIT: Would be handy if I gave a location. It's in Gloucestershire.

That is the point about this model, it is so damn good at what it does is makes it so hard to find a better bike or even justify doing so! Case in point, my insurance renewal £83... you can't insure a citrus fruit cheaper than that!

£83?! How old are you?

I'm getting quoted £700 and I'm 24 with 4 years NCB On my car. It's a joke.

I am as old as my user name suggests! Probably gone over the age hump and careering down the other side... I could be forgetful, but I just can't remember!
