Morning Org,

Just thought I'd share with others like me who hadn't considered them before.

I suffer from time to time with numb hands on the SV, sometimes they go completely dead. Anyhow a while back bar ends were discussed on here and heavier weights were mentioned. I Googled further.

Heavy weights were not exactly cheap so I decided to knock some up at work, as I was unsure of the benefit a £40 - £50 set of bar ends would achieve. Pinching the dimensions from Google. I also work with bar form material, and CNC Lathes.

So a bit of brass was duly "borrowed" and turned down. Stock bar ends weight 135g's each, mine 285g's each.

Oh my god the difference is like night and day, totally transformed the bike. The vibration is now marginal. The numb hands completely cured.
If only I had done this 4 years ago when I got the bike.
Now I just need to decide if I can be bothered to paint them black.

So if you too get numb fingers, swap out your bar ends.

I switched out the old cheap light as a feather crap ones a previous owner had put on mine for some Oberon universal ones which are pretty hefty and like you said the difference was like night and day.

I'd been riding with neoprene grips over the standard ones to try and kill some of the buzz but even they're not needed any more.
