Hi all,
Just bought a 2003 pointy silver SV650S and in order to comply with these ridiculous laws I need to restrict it to 35kW. I just wanted to see if anyone on here had one they no longer use rather than buying a new one. I'm just considering all options at the moment.
I'd really like a ECU Restrictor but I can't afford new. Any on here?

Yeah I would like to just ride without one. Your certainly not the first to say so. I've heard stories of people never needing one, and some horror stories aswell
I've got the throttle stop plate, not sure what it's worth

This is what I use and I have no complaints: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Suzuki-SV-650-03-06-Restrictor-Kit-35kW-46-46-6-46-9-47-bhp-DVSA-RSA-Approved-/221515122412?_trksid=p2141725.m3641.l6368
A throttle stop I believe, and the bike still feels surprisingly sprightly. Plenty of low end torque and still more than enough power to get into trouble!
I remember speaking to the chap on the phone as I had a few queries and that he was extremely helpful and polite.
Bear in mind the Suzuki 33bhp ECUs (if that's what you are referring to) will not satisfy the legal requirements (if you passed your test AFTER 19th January 2013), and although you would still have full turn of the throttle, you are missing approx. 14bhp anyway (I accept it's not a completely fair comparison due to the different restricting techniques).
This person has timely advertised his restricted ECU for sale (https://forums.sv650.org/showthread.php?t=221821), but I would be extremely sceptical about it being a 47 bhp ECU, as I do not believe they were ever sold or are still for sale from Suzuki - although I would be very happy to be proven otherwise!
I too have a 'redundant' 33bhp ECU, which I will be happy to sell when I get around to it.
Good luck :)!
Philby.

This eBay seller can apparently remap the ECU, which I must admit I did not think to research before going for the mechanical restriction.
