Speedo Drive Issues

Hello

Can anybody help shed some light on this? Just bought my first SV650 however my speedo is not working, not showing any speed on the lcd display. Ive replaced the inner rotor as the tabs on the the old rotor had broken off but I still have no speed being displayed.

I have no idea why the wiring has been messed with the power, ground and signal wires have been cut on the main loom and directly wired onto the end of the speedo drive wire. I can see the speedo drive plug hidden in the frame near the air filter. I think i will re join the wires up on the main loom and order a new speedo and plug it in and see what happens. Any advice would be great

most likely done due to the connector corroding, common problem with suzuki's are the naff connectors.
