Just thought I'd spread the word of a great little camp site near Acle in Norfolk you may want to try, it's called "The Old Vicarage Camp Site"

Here's the website: http://www.oldvicaragecamping.co.uk/Welcome.html

Here's my summary:

Biker friendly, run by local farmer's son who just passed his bike test in his late twenties
Tent only site, no plots to speak of, cars park in car park only...allows bikes in to sleep near owners :)
Charged per person, dog friendly too
Good firewood available by the bucket for a fiver and you get the use of a brazier to cook on/warm up with later on etc
Simple compost toilets and heated showers
Communal freezer and electrical point (think phone charger type only...)
5 minutes from the nearby village which has a Budgens supermarket, fish and chips, Indian takeaway etc
15 minutes from the coast

I've just had a great 3 days away from it all there, even though it's only 10 minutes from my home it's enough of an escape to make it a holiday :) We intend on heading back there quite a bit for short breaks here and there too, the kids love it.

If anyone is interested maybe we could organise a EAR weekender or something? Probably not this year now but it might well be a good idea to think about organising something for next year???

Might give it a test run before the end of the school holidays

there's some nice back roads out that way that I never knew about, I need to check the area out proper too :)

Good idea for a meet up and bimble day time.
Followed by a cook up and a Pimms....

I'll bring the foie gras and Moet, but I'll have to get Jeeves some wheels :smt098

Erm, this is about two miles from my parent's house... I grew up and went to school in Acle!

Yep, don't think the camp site was there when you were about though, only setup fairly recently....maybe it was actually a vicarage back then?

Would suit you if we did something based there I would hope? You could double up on a visit to the folks but not have to stay there :)

Oddly I'm at Acle at the moment. Ma and pa were meant to be coming to see us this weekend but mum has done her back in. In the car though as they have some stuff for daughter dearest for when she heads back to uni in four weeks time. Look out for a bright orange Focus estae heading back towards the civilised end of the A/M11 tomorrow morning. Give me a wave if you see me :D

Looks like my wife is planning on going to Latitude Festival in July next year which will give me four days to myself. May look at this site for a night or so.
