View Full Version : Really hacked off
After going to work on the sv I've had to walk home, key in stand up clutch in a few clicks deaded. Then the relay (starter) didn't do it's normal clicking more a fizzing whirring noise, so 5mile walk home with the battery and now on charge I'm worried about the noise not clicking as it normally does. I'm going back to work in a bit once it's. Barged to fingers crossed get it home. If relay is dead am I right in thinking bridge the 2 terminals and the starter should spin up? I've never been able to bump start it since I started getting battery trouble

Yes, bridging the terminals with something should make the starter spin. If it spins when you bridge it, but does nothing when you don't bridge it, the relay is dead. Hope you get it fired up.

Do you have someone at work to help you bump it? One extra person to get a little speed up then pushing down on the grab rail so you get weight over the rear to stop it just locking?? Second gear and all that???
Fingers crossed for you.
Gents she's home again battery is proper done so new one on its way got to work as I'm undoin the nuts got grabbed by security
Oi pal what you think your doing!!!!!!! Lmao had to say erm it's my bike and I work nights etc etc oh wanna push as I'm fitting battery in no but cross your fingers she starts bang straight into life rode home parked her up put her on the charger and battery charging showing half health it was full when I left home and only have a 5 mile trip home so battery cells are dead I'm guessing
one you get the new battery i would suggest you check your charging volts.
by the way just for future reference your bike (avatar pic) is a 2006 registered in 2007. this makes a big difference when ordering parts as the 2007 onwards are twin spark.
nice to know security do their job! rather than just videoing someone nicking it... thanks for that

i aint flogged the water in years. i keep meaning to get out but the lure of the bike is more appealing these days. i have been fly fishing and tying flies since i was 8, i'm now 49 :-)
note to self, look out your fishing gear.
