Hey guys,
With it coming to winter and I commute year round im noticing my headlights are ****. Not much better than my 01 cg125.
Thinking of getting the nightbreakers and wanted to know of they are one of the better options for plug and play and if OSRAM NIGHT BREAKER UNLIMITED H7 are the right/best ones.
Cheers!

Shouldn't they be H4?

They should be H4. I've fitted Osram Nightracers to my curvy. Unbelievable improvement over the standard bulbs and over the Philips Extreme 80 bulbs I had fitted previously.

This is why I ask you guys. Prevents silly mistakes. Any opinion on standard vs lasor?

Having tried Xenon filament bulbs from Phillips and Osram in cars (and in my bikes got Phillips Xtreme Vision in at the moment, but only ever used in daylight ) I found that Osram maybe a tad brighter but beam pattern a bit 'fuzzy' whereas Phillips bean pattern has always been better, more defined with a more noticeable sharper cut-off. The higher brightness bulbs have shorter life than normal plain Halogen gas ones (the addition of Xenon gas to Halogen allows higher filament temperature). I have seen figures of average 450 hours life on internet reviews, but you get more vibration on a bike than the average car - most bikes now use headlight all the time, I tend to ride on high beam in the day partly to make bike more visible but also I would want high filament to blow first because riding on high beam after dark is pretty much a no-no, but dip beam would get you home without getting road rage from everyone you ****ed off.

looks like nightracers have vibration resistant filament.
Interesting articles on this site, link below is just one, looks like yellow headlights could make your bike more visible in daylight (they stand out from everybody elses blue/ white lights) and fog, but not so good at night.

Cool so the consensus seems to get the Night Racers over the Breakers.

That's for a single bulb, the eBay link is for a twin pack

Be careful, the ebay packaging does not show 'vibration resistant' - below is a quote from a test on Osram bulbs - if you look at link in my original post to 2 pack on powerbulbs.com it does state on packaging that bulb is vibration resistant variant especially for motorbikes - looks like they make different bulbs for bikes and cars.
"Especially for motorcycles, Osram offers the Night Racer 110 with high vibration resistance".

Fitted the Night racers and in under an hour the low beam blew in one of the bulbs 😑

Mmmm! Mine have been on the bike for sometime now, and used every time I ride the bike with no failures so far.

Messaged the eBay seller about it.
I watched a documentary recently about this kind of bulb. There are an awful lot of counterfeits out there that are made from ordinary glass rather than quartz glass and they are not set up to conform to UK regulations.

The world is full of counterfeit goods coming out of far east, even high tech aircraft companies are being fooled by them. Quite a few famous brand makers employed people in China to go around smashing up the factories (mud huts) to try and stop the flow of sub-standard and downright dangerous goods (circuit breakers that did not trip or simply caught fire etc.). The internet is an ideal place to sell this stuff as there are not the usual checks and balances in place. Lets face it. if something that costs £20 is on sale for £1.20 you have to wonder what the catch is.
Unfortunately the packaging on this stuff is very convincing and does not contain the Chinglish (Chinese English) wording that used to make it easy to spot, add that to the fact that a lot of the genuine products are now made in China and this has created a minefield for consumers.
You don't always get what you pay for, but if it is too cheap it is invariably tat.
Agree, loads of fake stuff, NGK spark plugs for example. I think this is one of the biggest problems nowadays. I try to get this kind of thing from recognised dealers. Power tools are a minefield unless you get them from some sort of recognised place, recently got a Makita LED worklight, an ebay advert but checked first that the dealer has a real shop outlet (don't you love Google earth?).
Just picked up a new pair of Philips lamps from http://www.eurocarparts.com/ hoping they stand a good chance of being genuine, or at least they are a bricks and mortar place where I can take them back if necessary. No connection with them. I've used https://www.powerbulbs.com/us/store/category/car-bulbs in the past, seem reliable.
Spark plugs I get from http://www.sparkplugs.co.uk/ or http://www.gsparkplug.com/ , had good service from both and they've been around for a few years.

Yeah, I have used powerbulbs and never had a problem, sometimes Halfords have 2 for 1 on bulbs as well which can make them good value- it's worth a look.
What I like about Halfords is, although they can be a bit pricey sometimes, they are open long hours 7 days a week and as you say a bricks and mortar place to go back to - never had a problem getting replacement parts at Halfords.
