OMO: TV Brackets

So I am thining of trying ot get get rid of my tv stand and bolt the tv to the wall with the PS3 behind it. I can find a bracket for the PS3, but I need a tv bracket that sticks out far enough to accommodate this. Probably needs to be about 12-14cm space between it and the wall.

I would also like one which does not tilt up and down, as in my experiance these quickly start drooping and look bad. swivel side to side is good though.

Any thoughts?

You get ones that extend out from the wall. You could then either find a gap in the mounting frame to fit the PS's bracket, or just bolt the two brackets together. Won't it look a bit weird sticking out from the wall though?

first off you need to know what VESA mounting is on the TV.

as daz says it will look stupid with the PS3 behind the TV.

loading discs with the PS3 behind the TV will be a PITA.

better off to mount the PS3 below or at the side of the TV.

dont be a mong and have the TV high up on the wall, the centre of the TV needs to be at eye or slightly above when watching while sitting in your preferred seat. if the TV is too high up on the wall your always looking up which is bad.

Just get a cantilever TV bracket and pull it out to the required depth.
You'll struggle to fine one without the tilt up or down but they are all adjustable so as long as you tighten them straight away it won't move.

Get a seperate wall mount for the PS3, something like this

Wall brackets are all very nice if the cable and power sockets are behind/beside them and are covered by the unit when installed. If they dangle down (fnarr) they look pretty pants. Assuming all the services are currently at standard skirting height it is a lot of work to chase out a channel, install new boxes, fill/make good/redecorate, install brackets, etc. just to get rid of your TV stand.

That's a matter of opinion. Ps3 currently lives behind the TV on the stand. Loading discs is fine, it is like a car cd player. Not with a tray to plonk it on.

I want to get rid of the massive jumble of stuff in the corner.

Yeah, I've seen those ones with the glass shelves below. Nice idea, but I don't think it looks all the good.

I can run a single power cable to the back of the TV with all the other power coming off an extension outlet. All other things in are wifi.

Part of the reason to get rid of the TV stand is to keep stuff out the way of little hands. My son is just entering the grabby grabby, pully pully phase.

I have the advantage with looks in that it is in the corner, so I have some ability to hide cables and odds and sods behind the curtain.
