Hi all, just had a runner take me out and run off, bike is bruised but broken clutch pedal.

I have a recovery truck on route, but will need to ride to local garage and wondered if any macguyver methods in changing gear.

Unfortunately no crash bungs on the frame [emoji36]

Thanks.

Sorry to hear that mate. If the lever is busted, it's game over until you can put another on.

Glad you're OK. Look on the bright side, it's a good excuse to upgrade mirrors and indicators.

Ah bad luck mate, assuming you have an SV I was looking at how well R@G bungs would protect my fairings by lining up a board from my tyre edges to my bike bodywork. Think the fairings wouldn't, well fair too well.

@yokohama, thanks. Yes, good excuse for an upgrade indeed.
@DomP, yes it is an SV pointy.

Much fairing damage?

Nope. Not at all. Bar ends saved me to be honest, go faster stripes (scuff) on nose cone but that's it.

Sorry to hear that, was it actually a bloke running that ran into you?

I've got a half-faired pointy with R&G bungs, it fell off the side stand last year. The bungs stopped the fairings, bar ends etc hitting the deck, but the toe peg broke off the gear lever, which made the rest of the ride interesting :(

Aye, the bungs are good if you're half faired, but less useful if you have the full fairing.

Yes. He ran out at pace between a stationary bus looking the other way for traffic and just ploughed into me - the timing couldn't of been any better.

Oh. Was going to invest in bungs but if that happens then there's no point.

Thanks for the update.

Bloody hell :(

Yes, crash bungs save some damage, but not all ....

He was a runner, and he was fine. It was his momentum that took me down but he got up in a flash apologised profusely and ran off - leaving me on the floor and bike on top of my leg [emoji17]

It was another biker behind me and bus driver that helped lift the bike up off my leg.

So many ar*eholes in this world.

Pity it wasn't something bigger that they ran into, I have seen people just walking along footpath suddenly turn onto a zebra crossing and walk into road without checking traffic, I know you are supposed to give way but they have a responsibility to check before scooting onto crossing and causing traffic to emergency brake. Also I have twice had tweenagers on phone walk out in front of me on exiting road islands (no crossing there, just wandered into road) - good job road wasn't wet.

I am shocked the runner didn't even offer to help you pick bike up though.

I know, and I'm sure he has a due care and attention to make sure I'm alright?
Maybe he thought I was going to get up and 'lamp' him one for causing the accident. [emoji36] so got offside sharpish.

In that case, you were clearly going too slow. :eye:
