I have got a 05 pointy S that I am converting to more or less a N.
Ive put on a N top yoke & Renthal ultra low bars.
I bought some 2nd hand throttle cables off of Fleabay that were advertised as coming off of a 05 Naked but the connections etc are different at the throttle tube end.
The 1st picture below are the original cables, the 2nd are the N cables. Will I have to get a different throttle tube? Have I bought the right cables?
Thanks for any help

Thanks that answered my question. Do I go for a genuine tube or another option?

ermmm its not just the tube its the whole throttle housing. the naked throttle housing contains the switchgear as well. the sport throttle housing is a separate item to the switchgear.

my conversion has a bandit 1250 front MC and naked throttle housing with extended cables but i have renthal medium road bars.

oohhh and the oem bar ends dont fit he renthal bars.

Thanks, I have read about having cables made up to fit, anybody got any comments?

you need to know what length you need to have them made up so unless someone has had cables made for the same setup as your going to use then its a shot in the dark.

venhill will make any length of cable you want but dont ask them what length you need as they wont know just like asking a suzuki parts dealer if honda parts fit.

i personally cant see there would be much difference between the sport and renthal ultra lows. if there is then you will also need longer brake lines and possibly clutch cable.

I did that. Just send your cables to Venhill with the new lengths written on tape stuck round them and give them permission to use your tubes from the original cables and they will do the business. Their clutch cable gives such a smooth action on my curvy that people think it is a hydraulic conversion. I only use two fingers on the clutch.

Thanks, Ive got the N cables so I can measure the length of them. Ive fitted Wezmoto longer braided brake lines, great service from them, good product & reasonable price.

you cant just measure the naked cables as they are a different setup.

i'll try and explain what you need to do.

fit all switch gear and throttle housing to he new bars.

take the (fitted to throttle bodies) throttle cables and mate them up to the throttle housing at full right hand lock (longest stretch on cables)

measure the difference between the end of one of the outer cables where its crimped at the ferrule to the end (exit) of the throttle housing remembering to leave some slack and add 5mm. you now have the size of how much extra you need your new cables. i'll stick my neck out and say around 45-50mm but dont take my word for it.

Thanks again for your great advice Bibio, I will update the thread with progress (or not!)
