I have searched but can't find what I am looking for

I have been told that the power is limited on the SV1000 apparently when in gears 1 to 4 the ECU cutts the power only allowing full beans in 5 and 6

I am also told that putting an inline box of tricks between the gear position switch and the ECU gives full beans in all gears

So is any of this true?

Thanks in advance

Mike

I think you're referring to the TRE mod (timing retard eliminator). If you search "tre sv1000" you'll find your info.

Don't think any of the TRE devices or mods do anything, its all a myth.

Best thing to do with the thou is fit a power commander and get it mapped properly

on the 650 i would say it makes no difference but on the thou it more than likely does make a slight difference but i would guess not much.

dont bother with a power commander but instead track someone down that can flash/map the OEM CDI. it will cost less and you will get better results.
