View Full Version : Inconsiderate Driver...
A friend of mine saw this driver park and challenged them about where they were parking, the driver said ' I don't care, I can park where I want' does anyone have a view about it?https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170809/244d001b94569bf59d1f5341b48de1ca.jpghttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170809/b86c0f603857ef66e68e6b2f5fd849cc.jpg

Walk on to the reception area of the place he parked and ask loudly for the owner of the black range rover parked in the motorcycle bay and that has just been driven into.

Some people are tossers, looks like your friend found one driving a perfect tosser motor with a tosser number plate.
I'm surprised your "friend" didn't key it. All that black is just crying out for something to break it up, something's missing.
Amazing what a simple line can do to a panel making it more atheistically pleasing.

I wonder what JL stands for?
Is that the Jacking Loser in the pic?
i'm always a bit wary of cars like that. you dont know who the driver is, what they do and how influential they are. they might be right in that that they can park anywhere they like.

Guessing you've not been on the internet for a week and seen it go viral . . . . let's be honest. There aren't any motorbikes in the spot and there still is room to fit a couple.

The number plate says it all, why not standardize all vanity plates to wan&er1, wan&er2 etc. I have known a few people with personal plates and they have all been overbearing ba&tards with a well developed sense of entitlement. He probably reluctantly parked in the motorbike spot because all the disabled spots were taken by other like-minded tossers.

I do, LPH.
I carry a long wear lipstick on me and write a rude word across the windscreen. If they put the wipers on it smears everywhere. Not permanent damage but annoying for them.
A neighbour used to park at an angle across two spaces. I put several large signs on his car windows that said 'This bay is reserved for two residents but only one w@nk**. ' I stuck them on with those permanent glue sticky pads. He never parked like that again.

as do I and I like to think I don't fall into that category..... some may disagree though
When I worked in Edinburgh the disabled spaces outside the supermarket near where I worked were always full of cars without disabled badges. Until the day the car parking staff went around gluing A4 notices to the drivers side windows. And I mean proper spirit glue. Repeated for a week. Problem solved.

The guy is clearly a bit of a tool, there are plenty of them out there, get over it! Despite his inconsiderate attitude my opinion of him is still better than of those on here who seem to think his behaviour somehow justifies acts of criminal damage on their part...... If you really feel further education is necessary then you could probably get away with what LPH advocates, but stop short of writing anything to offensive, the trick is to be subtle...... Something like "Caution! Driver owns the road" across the rear window might be appropriate......

No doubt an opinion formed from many years of Police work...
And therein lies the problem. Normal people who follow the rules get very frustrated when some arrogant bugger doesn't. Eventually it boils over and you get the criminal damage you mentioned. Why? because in most cases there's nothing you can do to enforce the rule, so arrogant buggers know they can get away with it. And this breeds more of them.
I think, perhaps, in some cases, it should be a case of "MOTORCYCLES ONLY OR ELSE" and this would simplify the situation an awful lot. And this is applicable to many other similar situations as well. Either make a rule and enforce it or don't bother.

There are many rules and laws that do not get enforced already on the books, and many of the 'new' laws that are passed are already covered by an existing law that is not enforced.
If they wanted to the council or whoever owns the parking could put bollards across the parking that only allow bikes in (you would not need many as the gap only has to be sufficient to keep cars out), but extra expense means they won't do it.
would you call a biker inconsiderate if they parked in a car parking space if the motorcycle only spaces were full?
plenty space to get a few bikes in there so i dont see what the big deal is.
when out with Mrs B i sometimes have to park in parent and child spaces due to the disabled spaces being full, does that make me inconsiderate?
I got flashed at last week by a Merc as I rode into a parking space at my regular pub. He was annoyed that I was putting a bike in a car parking space. The Merc driver then found a disabled space to park in. As it happened, the space I parked in was wide enough for the bike and a car. There was a car parked next to the bike in the same space when I came out.

Not unless the space was marked "CAR" or "CARS ONLY"

No mate, it's an opinion formed from living in an educated civilised society. Sure, we get frustrated when we see people abusing principals we believe in, but lets keep this in proportion shall we? They've parked inconsiderately but not caused anyone the slightest inconvenience and people are suggesting that justifies subjecting them to thousands of pounds worth of damage? Give it a break please!

I should point out that the sign I put up was in a car park where we each had a designated resident's space we paid for. So the idiot I had to deal with was parking across two spaces, neither of which was even his. And he did it regularly. We're not even sure what point he was trying to make by parking diagonally aside from his car being an Impreza and he was probably so scared someone might open their door into his precious car he used up the whole bay. I had the full support of my neighbours.
I got to a bike bay in Lymington last year and a scooter had parked across the whole of the very limited bike bay. Me and Stu picked his 50cc up and moved it right into the corner then parked our fully panniered adventure bikes alongside.

I personally have never keyed or thought about keying or damaging someone's property. I was attempting humour with a take on a certain SV build we have recently all been admiring where a simple stripe on the side made all the difference. That was all.
But then I'm not a tosser, unlike a certain Range Rover driver.
I am however like several other members on here sick of **** takers in our civilised society. And no Lance, I wouldn't class parking in a parent and child bay as out of order if no disabled spaces. I have 3 kids, I also have a wheelchair bound niece who is 12.
But as also said, life's too short. Let's move on.
Who's gonna tell us something else we can all moan at?

The Business School I attended had very limited parking. The bike bays were frequently taken by cars and the facilities guys took great delight in gluing DON'T DO IT AGAIN notices on their side windows for first offences and right in front of the drivers position for subsequent. As a mate of ours on the course was in a wheelchair we were also careful to shop any lazy **** who used the only disabled bay we had, prompting several arguments with lazy people who could only say "but there are no other spaces". We would dare them to go inside and leave their car with several of us loitering beside it, idly flicking the wiper blades, while one of us scampered in and got security to come and shout at them (the guy was a huge ex serviceman and scared the **** out of us when we'd done nothing wrong). Ian even got his own specially added space right beside the door in our final year with his name on it so it could be watched by security but of course it became a magnet for even lazier delivery drivers... This was all 30 years ago - nothing has changed.

I would have no sympathy if someone torched it. However I was more suggesting of a situation where the rules actually get enforced. Then no-one would have a problem with him parking there cos he would get a penalty/clamp/towed away. And guess what? Then he wouldn't park there. Problem solved. No frustration, no criminal damage. Not so hard really is it?

We occasionally get cars parking in bike bays at work.
I just have a quiet word with the parking enforcement guy. He then posts the fixed penalty charge. Oddly enough I usually find the space clear.
Didn't we have a short spell of " show us your bike parked where it shouldn't be " or something along those line, and remember many parked under NO PARKING signs, think long and hard guys,it's a jungle out there !

It doesn't help matters it's a rangerover (bit fascist but ...not wrong :bigsmurf:)
My view is, there's not a single bike there so no harm done. Bikes make up what 4% of traffic? Chances of 30 turning up at once....next to nil (especially considering the tumbleweeds in the forum rideout section!).

It's not really about harm done, it's about attitude. I bet he's a really careful considerate driver who is always patient and observant and stops to give lifts to old ladies etc etc I'm totally making this up. The range rover/number plate thing really adds to it. If it was a battered old mini I probably wouldn't bat an eyelid. Funny how we perceive things init.
People parking in bike spaces really annoys me. If someone cannot follow the smaller rules, then what chance is there of them following bigger rules? "But there's nowhere else"-tough poo, car park is full. Go find another.

Helped the Munchkin move house yesterday and found car parking even worse than it was at her last place. But, hoorah, the council has just added a m/c only bay a few yards away. By the time I had found a spot for the car just two minutes walk away there was a car parking in the bike bay... As the driver got out I took a picture of him/car/markings and told him he had the time it would take me to get inside to move before I reported him. Thankfully his wife said "told you!" and they got back in and drove off.
I am not hopeful of being able to park the Bonnie there next time I go down.

There is a blind bend on the way into our housing estate, one of the houses near the bend has a guy with a VW transporter van, and he took to parking on the road right on the bend (even though there is parking at the house) - created chaos with traffic on and off the estate - people complained and he eventually moved his van off the road into his house parking - now another tosser has decided to park in the same place - words fail me..................

Putting my really sad hat on for a moment not a lot of people know that the vast majority of vans go over 1525kg unladen weight (proper vans, not the car derived ones) in which case they are obliged to display lights when parked on a road at night..... so next time your neighbour leaves his van in an inconsiderate location make yourself really unpopular with your local police force and point this out to them, making sure to remind them that should someone now run into it it's not going to look good for them. One of the advantages of having a completely risk adverse police service these days is that it's remarkably easy to get them to act if you feed them the right motivation....

Twice today I've had inconsiderate parking. The second was in McDonald's. Asked to park in the bay parking and I couldn't because a retard in his Civic felt he had to use both bays. That's was a minor irritation.
The first. I had gone out and someone parked on my bumper giving no room to get out. So I pushed his car down the road. (Naughty I know). But then getting out of the car park a complete twit drive at me and then sat looking at me as if I could disappear out of his single lane road. The only space was behind me and I had nowhere to go but towards him. He then started shouting at me. The response he got I hope was a surprise. "Did you just cut up that ambulance with the blue lights on? It's taking my kid to A&E. I suggest you move your car out of the way fast before I move it for you."
