So here's the problem. I've just bought a Cat C SV650 (2002 Curvy faired) and the intention is to convert it into a reasonably cheap trackday bike. So far so good but I am being driven to distraction by the wiring harness. The one on the bike has a Datatool alarm spliced into it and I want to get rid of that for the battery drain and complexity.

So far I've sourced two standard harnesses for it. The first was a wreck with missing and cut wires and the second appears to be for the naked bike which has a different instrument interface. So unless anyone knows of a decent faired curvy harness available I'm looking for recommendations for somebody who can strip the alarm from the harness and return it to standard. Please don't say "you can do it yourself" because me and wiring do not mix, been there not going back.

Thanks in advance!

I pondered this and eventually came to the conclusion that only a datatool installer could remove it

Possibly, though Datatool themselves say the whole idea is that it can't be removed and the installers may say the same. Clearly it can, it's just a matter of finding a suitably competent vehicle electrician. Most of them will fit boxes and run wires but not cut into harnesses.

Seems like the first suggestion may have been the best, Exeter Quads are local and confident they can restore the harness to standard :)

I'm a clueless ****wit when it comes to wiring. I removed my datatool alarm. It was pretty simple once I'd plucked up the courage to start snipping. Go on ave at it.

Which one is it out of curiosity? Mines the S4Red which I think might be suzuki specific
