would an 06 sv650 clutch cover fit an 01....and are they alloy,as opposed to plastic like the 01...

Think all clutch covers are interchangeable, although the colour will be different.

Yes.

Common upgrade to remove the likelihood of the 2 piece clutch cover leaking.
